The Consequences of Falling Lyrics

Are you breathing
What I'm breathing
Are your wishes
The same as mine

Fire you needing
What I'm needing
I'm waiting for a sign

My hands tremble
My heart aches
Is it you calling
If I'm alone in this
I don't think I can face

The consequences of falling
Are you thinking
What I'm thinking
Does your pulse
Quicken like mine

Are you dreaming
What I'm dreaming
I can't read your mind
One step towards you
Two steps back
Feels like I'm crawling

If I'm alone in this
I don't think I can face
The consequences of falling

Well, I am the first (and I suspect will be the only) commenter, but am glad to be so in any case. This song means a lot to me; I read it about a person in lusting after another person, an obsessive crush if you will, waiting to see if their desires will be met by the other person, tense, expectant, maybe frightened of what's going to happen next.

It captures for me that feeling of 'one step towards you, two steps back, feels like I'm crawling' - getting nowhere, getting more tense and desperate to just have the desire fulfilled.

But then, I am strange and my interpretations do not often match other people's.

Thank you and goodbye.

Just love this song. I first heard this in Soldier´s Girl (great film btw, Lee Pace was fantastic! <3) which I watched the other day, and I've got to say that this song matches perfectly with the subject of the movie.

Wish more people listen to this, because it truly is beautiful.. :)
