Dammit, I Changed Again Lyrics

Hey, come inside
While I stand here acting bold
Can't stand to feel this way
Clear out the cobwebs in my soul

This time I turn around
And things have changed
Now I don't feel the same

Start a fight
I can't defend
One more time
Dammit, I changed again

Now I don't see
Things the way I did before
Can't stand to feel this way
Things important yesterday
Don't matter anymore
It doesn't make any sense
To feel so different day to day
(Can't stand to feel this way)
When nothing's changed except for me

To me this song is more about not understanding myself, how it is possible that one day I like a girl and the next day I don't, without anything changed except for me...

It's about growing up, every few weeks your opinions on something completely changes, and it keeps doing this. It makes you feel like shit because you feel like a hypocrit, and you feel stupid for your older ideas. That, and it's stressful to change every other week.

@schaferhund Identity crisis, for sure. Its happening to me right now. Dexter's lyrics are flawless

It's like when you're feeling like shit, and it's almost as if the whole world is fucked up besides you, but really, you're the one who's having problems and you have to deal with them yourself.

IT's like when you are trying to find yourself in the fucked up worl that we live in today. And you try so damn hard to figure out who you are as a person, and what the hell you are doing here on this earth, and just when youthink you've got it. Just when you think you know who you are, you don't.

To me this song is about figuring yourself out, and then just when you think you know who you are, something new challenges you and makes you change your beliefs. As a result, opinions you've held your whole life are challenged by your new ideals. In the end, you're frustrated that you have to re-evaluate your opinion of yourself.

lmao neovulcan... interesting view on it. pms sucks alot. yeah i agree with everyone, it's about trying to find yourself and once you think you've finally figured yourself out something happens and you're forced to rethink your beliefs and such. in other words confusion and an identity crisis? or something like that

A kick-ass song, about how you can feel so good about something the other, and the next thing you know, you feel like it couldn't be worse. And Neovulcan, that's true, however random it may be... But I keep thing about the "start a fight, can't defend" and it makes a lot of sense--if you're always changing how you feel about things, how are you supposed to give a valid argument on a certain decision? Unless Dexter's talking about a physical fight, which is just as possible. Also, I'd like to say that American Hi-Fi's "Flavor of the Week" bears strong similarities to this song.
