Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend Lyrics
They delight in fighting duels
But I prefer a man who lives
And gives expensive jewels
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand but it won't pay the rental
On your humble flat
Or help you at the automat
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square-cut or pear-shaped
These rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
Cartier
Talk to me, Harry, Winston
Tell me all about it!
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
There may come a time when a hard-boiled employer
Thinks you're awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice!
But beware when they start to descend
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
And I think affairs that you must keep liaisonic
Are better bets if little pets get big baggettes!
And you can't straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees
You stand straight at Tiffany's
Diamonds
Diamonds
I don't mean rhinestones
But Diamonds
Are a girl's best friends

Why has no one commented on this yet? It's one of the most brilliant songs I've ever heard! It's actually kinda my theme song.
Peace, Love, Empathy, Louise xxx

It's kind of ironic that this song is a theme song for this quote, "Peace, Love, Empathy"

my theme song 2. u should check out shirley bassey 'diamonds are forever'. Pure quality.

THE classic.

Missing some..
"Tiffany's" "Cartier" "Black Star" "Frost Gorrham" "Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it"

n1kz: not missing. those aren't part of the original. baz lurhmann changes some lyrics to suit his movie, moulin rouge.

factcheckincuz: you may want to check YOUR facts, these lyrics submitted by n1kkz:
"Tiffany's" "Cartier" "Black Star" "Frost Gorrham" "Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it"
are Indeed in the original movie, with Marilyn Monroe. I've seen the movie about 20 times and own two or three copies of the song on CD. so, check your facts before you act a fool

This song is from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which was actually a production of Broadway before it was the movie in which Marilyn famously performed "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend", meaning that these lyrics are not necessarily the "original" since it was first part of the Broadway musical. However, since this is under the artist of "Marilyn Monroe", there is no need to scrutinize whether the "Tiffany's" part and all is in the song, because undeniably, it is there.
But if you wanted to debate whether it was in the song in the Broadway production, you might have yourself a good argument.

Since this is the Marilyn Monroe version, she does indeed say "Tiffany's, Cartier, Black Star, Frost Gorrham, Talk to me Harry Winston, tell me all about it" in her version from Gentlemen Prefer Blonds (Black Star & Frost Gorrham were left out in the lyrics above), however, in the original Broadway version, that part isn't included. In fact, the lyrics in the Broadway version are completely different.
Anyway, this is the most fabulous song ever! <3

My idol, inspiration, everything. i love you doll happy birthday in july. I wish you were still part of this universe making even more history. Youre amazing. Love this song.
