i agree, i have so much love for this song, it's really good on the live @ ccc CD. Everytime I have ever heard this song i pictured a guy and a girl stuck at the top of a ferris wheel in a small town fair, and I never realized he doesn't say that directly. I think that is what it is about though, because he says "high above the midway lights" and "swaying singing at the skywheel top". Its all about how one person wants to be friends and the other wants more, and the one who wants more perceives the lack of a serious relationship as a lack of trust. It works as a metaphore with the ferris wheel, how you may think you are falling, but if you trust the ride you'll be fine. SO in that case, the guy and the ferris wheel are analagous-- therefore, HE is the one with the deceptive feelings, and really should just want to be friends and not more, although by the end of the song it seems to be leaning the other way, that girl is the wrong one for not falling for him. I'd like to hear a song that is the other side of this relationship haha To sum up, its just the thrill of being in a relationship that is like a ferris wheel, where no one is falling but it may be fun to imagine that sometimes
