Too Punk For Crosswalks Lyrics

It happens every day, you see me walking down the street
Those bright white lines across the road don't mean that much to me
I'll take my chances with the drivers who are drunk
They'll hit me, they won't see that I'm much too punk for...

Crosswalks...
I'm too punk for crosswalks

Wrote a song, had a message, didn't know how to say it
People listen, think they know, they'll try to equate it
To some meaning like 'I'll never walk the line'
Well, you know, I follow every other traffic sign, but...

Crosswalks...
I'm too punk for crosswalks

Cover art for Too Punk For Crosswalks lyrics by Why Should I? Because

Hi. I wrote this one.

I knew it was going to be a hit as soon as I wrote it. In fact, I scrawled "Cool rhythm/rhyme scheme" (or something to that effect) on the lyric sheet and signed my name. This was written after I had displayed my obvious punk rock leanings by totally ignoring a perfectly good crosswalk. Note: It was about 3am and we were crossing a side street near a grocery store. You can be sure I risked my life that night.
