Well there was a little gay man as "happy as can be."
And one day that little gay man went on my property.
Well, watching that little gay man made me so very mad.
So I looked at that little gay man...
And I called him a little fag.
I said, "Hey little gay man, get off my property.
Hey little gay man, I hate your guts can't you see?
I don't care if God still loves you, don't even come near me."
Oh yeah, I'm so cool. I just told a little gay man to kiss off.
Am I a Christian or what?
As the little gay man was walking away I realized I done a bad thing today.
I said, "Wait little gay man, I'm sorry for what I said.
Come back I want to be your friend!"
I said, "Hey little gay man, God still loves you.
Hey little gay man, yes it's true.
Hey little gay man, God still loves you.
Hey little gay man, I do too.
Hey little gay man, God still loves you.
Hey little gay man, you can like girls again.
Hey little gay man, God still loves you.
Hey little gay man, drop that sin."

i think hes saying the song from a christian perspective who hasnt realized his sin at the beginning but then realizes its wrong to persecute homosexuals at the end.

right it's nota gay-bashing song. anyone who read the lyrics could see that--so it confuses me that people still think that it is! hm, maybe it's the title. anyway, a light way to state an opinion on a heavy topic. go calibretto!

alright...despite what it explicitly says...i think this IS a gay-bashing song...title = horrible. beginning of song = horrible. middle of song, hey! things are looking up. "Oh yeah, I'm so cool. I just told a little gay man to kiss off. / Am I a Christian or what?" that's the right (sarcastic) thing to say! so for a line or two i was reassured that this wan't all bad. then i got to..."Hey little gay man, you can like girls again." no! well number one, if this speaker actually believed that it wasn't christian to persecute people by their sexual orientation, he wouldn't spend this refrain shouting "HEY LITTLE GAY MAN." why should people have to be defined by who they fuck? number two, if the speaker believed "God still loves you," the line "you can like girls again" completely negates any sense of acceptance of people for who they ARE. and "hey little gay man, drop that sin." SIGH...ok if the bible says that homosexuals are "wrong," and it probably does, i've never checked...but if the religion declares that it IS a sin, and this "little gay man" won't be loved by God or the speaker until he "drops" it, then what's the point of this fucking song? i'm not gay, i just enjoy a little TOLERANCE. is that so wrong?

okay, this isn't really the place to discuss theology, but God loves every person despite their sin, not once they stop. that is what is meant by Grace. The Bible does say that homosexual intercourse is a sin, but so is pride and self-righteousness that Christians can slip into (like the narrator in the beginning). the narrator discovers his fault, doesn't want to hate the gay man, realizes that even though he wants him to change, he is to love him too, regardless. that is a great message.

these guys sucked when they first came out and this song carries on that legacy, beside being totally and completely incapable of comprehending empathy, its also just a real shallow song. in my not-so-humble opinion, if you can deduce a songs meaning by reading the title, you really should move on to something else in your life, because song writer is not your forte. and apparently, by the looks of a quick google, Calibretto 13 has done just that, "10.30.04 CALIBRETTO'S FINAL SHOW", praise him from whom all blessings flow.

Blank Space
Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.
