Woooooooo, this song rocks! I cannot think of a more beautiful "love" song. Well, to me it is about being in a relationship that you cling on to out of sentimentality or something, but actually you're suffocating each other. You can't let go even though it is harming both of you. The metaphor of being like a "ghost" is so powerful with the other person continuing to "haunt" you. "Real love dies young"... true or not, I dunno, but obviously being trapped in this dieing relationship has made this person extremely skeptical of love. The whole "I will always bleed for you" I think allures to self-destructiveness and self-harm...secretly they are destroying themself through being with this person but still they cannot let go of the security that comes with the relationship. I just think this song, like all of King Adora's, is so powerful and beautiful. Maxi is sooo sexy, I love him to pieces.. the band rock.. the end. Ps. Queen adreena rawk too, KJG is a kitten :-) |

Woooo ain't this just such a beautiful song.. simple and with a very important message. Well obviously it is through the eyes of a male anorexic.. very insightful, addresses a lot of the stereotyping out there of a typical anorexic. "Every boy wants a body to die for". This is just an amazing, powerful song. Anorexia is such an important issue and so many people like this guy are made to feel ugly and not beautiful just because of their size. My favourite line here is "I'd throw my guts up for self-esteem", perhaps hinting at bulimia as well then? Lol, well anyways, I just get that so much - it doesn't matter what it's doing to him or how he acheives it, it makes him feel better :-) Basically King Adora rock... too many people hold prejudice against this amazing group just because of the glam image. Maxi is gorgeous and they are such a sexxxxy group that anyone with half a brain can see their songs rock! Ps. also listen to Queen Adreena 'cos they rawk too and KJG is a kitten. |

OK well I can relate to this song so well! I think it could be about Katie Jane's attitude to other people. In the Kerrang! interview "Tales of Ordinary Madness" she said that sometimes she feels like she is the only thing that is real and everything else is created in her imagination, so in this life she is either God or nothing..a scary polarity certainly. I think in this song she is saying that no-one else seems to care about things in the same way as she does, no-one else thinks like she does and therefore she finds it difficult to relate to other people. When she starts to open up to people and tell them who she really is she gets scared that they will think she is crazy and closes up "You walk all over anyone who dares to be a friend"...deeming them "unenlightened" is saying that they could never understand her and what it is like to constantly struggle against yourself. "Love thy fellow humans..." that's such a powerful line, all these people telling you that you have to love each other and look out for each other but these people suck to put it politely! Why should you have to love your fellow human when they persecute you and manipulate you so bloody badly? We have a responsibility towards ourselves, if we look out for ourselves people can take care of themselves. A lot of people don't deserve our help, yes it's condescending and narcissistic maybe, but yes it is also true. "X-ing off the days"-originally I was thinking 'till death? After all that is the ultimate release! Alternatively it could be 'till people stop their persecutions ie. never or 'till they change you so much you are unrecognisable. "I nearly broke my back..."-this is saying we put ourselves out for them, we try to change to meet their ideals but Katie Jane knows that really we are never going to change enough, they will never be satisfied. "Your perfect man..." this is irony I feel, at least on Katie Jane's part, I don't think she beleives you can find someone that perfect..you can't always think you're better, someday you're going to have to settle for someone or be very very lonely! |

I love this! Manson is so about everything that sums up life..."heaven wasn't made for me" this is talking about living up to other people's expectations and how you're never going to be good enough in other people's eyes. "I wish that I was good enough"-death is absolutely everything, death is what we make it is the message this song gives out to me. just like life. We shouldn't have to change ourselves just to live up to other people's ideals. If we don't think we need help, then we don't need help. No-one should ever be forced towards change. I think he is talking about the capacity for evil in everyone... everyone in his band took the first name of someone beautiful (marilyn monroe) and the second name of someone evil (charles manson) to convey that the world is full of beauty and corruption at the same time. In revelation it says that before the coming of Christ the 'antiChrist' will come and many vulnerable people will be fooled by him and led to follow him. I think Manson wants to see people punished, I know he is very anti-Christianity and maybe he wants the antiChrist to prove to all the self-righteous Christians that in reality they aren't good just through following God, you have to work to make yourself good. No-one can acheive that through following a religion, "I shed the skin to feed the fake" he sees himself as working for the underdogs, 'the fake'. Obviously he is strong enough to feed off of other people and to gain his strength through critiscims by the media and by Christians. He's a clever guy, not sure I agree with his views, but he makes some headbanging music!! |

"All I want is to see you smile" I like that, it's so simplistic, just wanting someone to be happy because I never thought people were as black and white as that! This is a beautiful song, why has no-one commented on this yet!? It's just talking about death, and whether this is 'the end'. I think this song is saying we all feel suicidal sometimes, life is depressing you can't argue with that, and Tim is struggling to decide whether death actually gives you the release you are after "will you finally be free? Do you find contentment, do you find your peace?". Maybe he is contemplating suicide and this song is an argument as to whether killing yourself will acheive the finality of what you actually want, or whether you will just make things worse. This is a gorgeous song...kind of obvious, it's just a pretty little love song. Aphrodite is the Godess of love.. I think Tim is almost critical of himself in this song..."Her dark power... is my heart deceiving even me?". Maybe he is saying we can convince ourself to fall in love for the wrong reasons, because of how someone looks, but really if they are not a nice person-"how can I say what's in my mind, how can i say when it's so bad"then it doesn't work out. He thought he was in love with this gurl but in fact he desired her beauty-"I found the darkness inside me" is about realising how shallow he has been and knowing that he has to give her up if he wants true love. |

I absolutely love this song!! I've always thought it was just a beautiful love song, so much effective imagery used in the lyrics to describe the light it's truly gorgeous. I didn't think Tim was particularly religious, he was raised in Northern Ireland so obviously had religious influences but I read in an interview that he wasn't heavily into God. I think he is just comparing the person to Jesus, like Jesus was the most perfect being ever and no-one can compare to Him. I think Tim is saying the person he wrote this song for is as special to him as Jesus is to so many other people, and because he idolises this person he sees them "shrouded in celestial light". To so many people this person is annoying or boring, "A thorn in their side" but to him she is wonderful. I love this, why does no-one write this to me!? Lol. |

God I love this... this reminds me of Summer '01 when I was in Italy and it was hot and beautiful and you're all happy. It says you don't need money, you "just need music and sun and laughter and no currency, the sun on your bare shoulders it comes for free". You can be so happy but then the Summer dies and it's cold and wet and you're skint and alone and everything crashes around you. This is a song to listen to when you're feeling depressed, I guess Tim wrote it to pick yourself up and say 'hey, remember the good times, they'll be more of them, the Summer's not gone forever..". Sometimes I find that kind of hard to beleive because what you had was so fun and beautiful and it dies, there is no resurrection. This is still an amazing song, the lyrics are so simple and naive and Tim's voice sounds so young, I love him!! |

Oh people come on!! I can't beleive no-one has posted on this... this song is about S&M (sadism and masochism). I read in an interview Rick'rock'Mcmurray is very into s&m hence the fucked percussion.. but anyways, that's beside the point.. I think it's just about the dark masochistic sexual energy within people and the capacity for all of us to really gain pleasure through our hurt of ourselves or of other people. "Sink into warm flesh..for you I'd take the pain". Personally I think these lyrics are so erotic, it's just talking about really hurting your lover and them hurting you back, taking the pain and how that can really turn you on. It's sort of saying how can it be wrong, if it feels good then go for it-"even if it's wrong". Maybe they're critiscising stoopid rules, like in America, sodomy's illegal. That's silly!! I think this is about how things are not as they appear always and appearance is deceptive. Gertrude Stein did say "a rose is a rose" and maybe they're disagreeing or maybe they are being critical of people that always try to read too much into things - perhaps Roddy is saying that sometimes things are what they are (although "I am what I am not" would then be a total contradiction of this song!). He says "you'll always be dissatisfied", so why force ourselves into that? I think this is about a relationship with someone that really doesn't know how to be themself - "You're full of facts but not things that could add up to words, you think about meaning more as an afterword, as in afterward..." is possibly one of Roddy's most powerful lyrics. He is saying that you can't just quote other people and base yourself around who you think you would like to be-you need to be able to express your true feelings more and just to be yourself. It's pointless having the intelligence to know the facts but not being able to express yourself through words. This song is about communication-without it they cannot have a relationship because the other person cannot tell him who they really are. The relationship is forcing him to hide himself away-"I return but don't remain.." he cannot last with someone who he doesn't really know. I think everyone exists in a hiding place at some time, we all try to escape things when they get tough. Maybe he is critical of people doing that, and saying ultimately that's unhealthy and isn't going to help-you should get out there and talk to the people that mean something to you, otherwise you will lose them. |

Yea this song is about self-confidence. I think this song is being sung to someone that is really insecure and doesn't beleive in themself. He is trying to reassure them, saying that in time it will get better and they will be OK. He is trying to teach someone to be themself-you have to learn to look in the mirror even though you don't like it, because if you "look rite thru your own reflection" you can see where you have to change and it can help you become the person that you want-"my reflection showed me that I'm far too critical". This person is ruining the relationship through not beleiving in themself, but he is saying that he is willing to sleep next to the mirror for them and eventually they will gain confidence. This song could be about drugs, overdoses etc however I think it is simply taking the metaphor of an overdose to talk about how people are trapped and persecuted in society..."The world is watching..." - you are constantly under pressure to do as other people expect, to meet up to their expecations. I think Katie Jane is adressing stereotyping and saying that people hold too many prejudices and are too judgemental. They don't understand what they do to people when they pressure them into being something they don't feel comfortable with eg. the world is watching as I take my last breath. I think Katie Jane sometimes cuts herself off from people and this song talks about "hiding from time" and therefore using solitude as a form of escapism - alone she is safe from people and yet without people we are nothing. The "shadow faces" and "whispered words" could be about the way other people view her and the feelings she inspires, although they could also be voices within herself which know what is right but which compell her to do wrong. "I scare myself with paranoid talk" is a line that I can really relate to. I think Katie Jane is saying through this song that sometimes she feels lost, feels like nothing, worthless and alone, and I think she is confused as to her mental state. Queen Adreena are an amazing band, Katie Jane's voice is haunting and beautiful... she is truly a princess for me. If anyone read the Kerrang! interview: "Tales of Ordinary Madness" with Katie Jane then you will probably have a deeper insight into the meaning of this song. Katie talked about how sometimes she feels like she is the only thing that is real and everything else has been created by her imagination, so in this world she is either God or nothing. Jesus is often referred to as "the way" and through the chorus of this song "For I am the way, burn all effigies of clay" I think Katie Jane is speaking about her beleif in this polarity. She uses a lot of religious imagery to convey that sometimes she must feel above it all, looking down on her 'creations'. As ladyboygrrl mentioned "Today's the day that i become the sky' could be a reference to suicide and floating up to Heaven, it could also be another allegory with the death of Jesus Christ and His ascension into Heaven. This is an extremely haunting song, Katie Jane Garside is truly a genius and she has the most beautiful voice. I love this band!! |
