| I'm reminded of stories when at the beginning of a story someone is about to fulfill an important task/mission/objective/goal. And before that character is about to try and achieve that goal they tell someone else if they die or fail they need to carry on for them and do what they couldn't. Therefore creating the "reluctant hero" trope. I think this song is from the yet-to-be reluctant hero's perspective. He doesn't want to be put in the middle of something he isn't involved in. Somebody else started shit and he isn't going to fight or pick up the pieces. | |

I think..... it's about the band maturing. The songwriting process. | The first time I heard this my first reaction was, "this song's about an incredible prostitute and this guy wants to know how she is able to fill people's desires like magic. "Tell me how you do it, every time it takes my knees out" It's like this woman is able to give him such an incredible blowjob that he is literally unable to stand the pleasure. "Just show them tricks we like" "Show your strings, your wires, check the lights" He's trying to figure out what she's doing that's different from every other woman. Every time she fills his sexual desire he never gets bored because it's like a magic show and he's the willing volunteer who can't figure out her secrets. | I think Morodrim more or less has this. Except I think it may actually be more about the crowd. We don't all get to be ourselves in our daily lives. But when you go to a Deftones concert, it's Chino's call for you to take action.
