| Mindless Self Indulgence – Faggot Lyrics

I think it's a song about the consequences of parental (father/son or mother/son) molestation. It sounds as though the singer does not like himself and also suffers from sexual confusion, which is common with victims of parental molestation. He's straight, but doesn't always view himself as straight because he's had sex with men, probably when in a bad or heightened state of mind. He looks down on himself for having had sex with men. It's an incredibly sad song, especially with "molestation" sung near the end of the song, with the placement being intentional. It's the reason for the actions taken earlier in the song. Without the molestation by someone he trusted, his life would very well have turned out differently (better). I think by saying he's "been denied all the best ultra sex," is him feeling he's been denied sex that occurred in a lovin, mutually respectful relationship. He's getting sex wherever, whenever, and with whomever, but it's not as gratifying as he would like it to be (emotionally gratifying anyway). But who knows...it's what my fat ass could come up with after listening to the song and almost crying. |

Don't speak to me now or ever. Don't post after I post. Just get the hell away from me. Don't you have some kings of Leon songs to post or will that be around 3 AM? You make me sick with your control and lack of empathy for anyone. I mean it. F off. |

I agree with your 'blah blah blah." I think she's flying and not returning. As for the song, I thought this band had written it. Surprised to learn that it merely covered it. I like this version the best. I used to hear this song (and version) played over the radio so long ago. Just love PP&M. |

Definitely NOT a song about my life. I searched for this track because I keep hearing this played on the TV for an expensive perfume. I LOVE it. The beat is great. The energy is wonderful. Just a GREAT song. Only wish it wasn't being used to sell a product. (Only wish Julia Stone would stop using her voice to sell products, but that's just me:) |

I say O M F-ing G, you didn't have to write a book about such a simple yet beautiful song. You have removed the romance from the song. What is it with men! Sit back and absorb the song into your heart and ever fiber of your soul. It needs NO explanation. It is pure love and beauty. 'Nuff said. |

Why dodododododo...or whatever? I don't get it. Seriously. Not a big fan of Sting's voice or music, but usually I get his songs...not this one! And I've always wondered why the band was named The Police. (I've never researched it because I'm not a big fan..and now I'm just too dang lazy to...so would someone explain, please) |

Please don't use The Byrds and Bob Dylan in the same sentence. One makes music to my ears. One sounds like nails on a chalkboard...and I'm guessin' NOBODY will not know who is who (or is it whom?)....crap, I always mess that up:) |

OMG...Five words that you were probably saying when you turned 2. LOL. As for the song, it's a classic (at least for those of us who are ancient:)."Let me forget about today until tomorrow" is a wonderful line. |

Oooooooooooooh, this is so romantic. I haven't heard the actual song in years, but I do remember it from a LONG LONG time ago. Just adore this band and the simplicity of songs from that decade. Nothing was blatant unless it was about true love. (Yes, there were a few exceptions.) The songs left something to the listener's imagination. And sex was almost always attached to love, which is a beautiful (but sadly fleeting concept today). |

Wow...I remember this song from my childhood. (Yes, I am old and I do not need any commentary:). The song's about a woman who possesses some kind of gift...just the look in her eye apparently grabs the attention (and heart) of a man. (Maybe she'll give lessons:) |

Good to know (thanks) 'cause I was wondering if there were more to this song. Never saw the movie, but obviously about wanting love to be given freely. Would love to hear someone else explain it 'cause it's obviously more indepth than that... |

| The Byrds – Lady Friend Lyrics

I love this band and wish more people would listen to music of a few decades ago....such talent. The music is often more innocent and also more romantic due to the roles of men and women at that time. Love was more genuine as it wasn't so often combined with lust...that came after the wedding:) Just the fact that this song is entitled "Lady Friend" shows how dated it is. The song's about a man worried that his love is leaving. |

The Byrds and NO comments? Such a good band. Obviously a love song...a man singing to the woman he loves. The "limousine" probably implies they're getting married. (I would rather ride in a truck, but then again the thought of marriage is distrubing:) |

Yup, and it's a great song. It was late 1981 or early 1982 when I would sit in a guy friend's dorm room with our two mutual male friends. The four of us would listen to this song while eating pizza and laughing our arses off. I do believe he played this song every time we ever visited his room. I just love the fiddle! |

| Duran Duran – Is There Something I Should Know? Lyrics

Cannot believe nobody's commented on the following line: "There's a dream that strings the road of broken glass for us to hold." It has to do with a wedding/a marriage.... a "string" ties people together, and the broken glass references the way a Jewish couple would stomp on whatever they stomp on once the Rabbi announces they're married. "For us to hold" references "to have and to hold until death do us part." "You're about an easy as a nuclear war" should become a line on the cover of a Hallmark card. I love it! |

I hear a guy singing to a girl who he believes is popoular with men. He sounds angry and petty. He wants to be with her but he's not because he feels he doesn't measure up. Either that or at one time she rejected him. But he's hopeful. He is anxious to finally measure up in her eyes so he can look at her and say something along the lines of too bad, chicky poo, you had your chance but now it's I who don't want you. Interesting song. Interesting band. |

I love this song...lyrics; beat; vocals; everything. It's so creative and it's been well-interpreted. My dog days are over tomorrow, but sadness will set in...saying goodbye to a short, round, fat doggy who is a cross between a walrus and a pot bellied pig. Wouldn't want a man to follow me from room-to-room, but it's quite different when it's a loyal, loving lil' doggy. Sorry...today is obviously theme day :) |

LOL...where's the lust in the song? I think you need a cold shower. (Does that even work? Oh, I suppose in some ways it does, but not for us women:) Interesting song, but the line "I wanted love but not for myself, but for the girl so she could love herself" is rather distrubing. |

Funny song. I had wondered if/when there would be songs about the social networking site. Just love the recent commercials on TV that show parents out having fun while their daughter/son complain that the parents are boring (all the while she's sitting at home 'playing' on Facebook). I am addicted to FB but only due to the reconnection with ol' friends from high school and college. And it's wonderful to laugh daily due to the many fun personalities of people who helped share ones childhood/life. |

| The Mamas & the Papas – I Saw Her Again Lyrics

You have GOT to be kidding. "Everyone can relate to this song." Ahhhhh...nope. The lyrics "Now she thinks that I love her because that's what I said, though I never think of her" are something a true cad would say/feel. Dispicable! If you don't love someone you tell him/her and leave the relationship before starting another. Or if you're lusting for someone else you are obviously not in love. (Again, you exit first.) I have always loved the band's sound and I like this song...obviously not due to the lyrics:) It was such a great decade for music. There was an innocence to it even with songs such as this one. Now music, for the most part, is IN YOUR FACE. It's lost romance and intrigue. I don't need sex (for example) to be spelled out for me. I can connect the dots...it's much more fun that way:) |

| Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks Lyrics

Lots of effort, but the band members have stated the song was not written about the Columbine shooting. As for bullying, the boys had their own set of friends and they were picked on the way thousands are picked on at school weekly. (In their case they were not horribly picked on the way many others are.) Bullying did not cause the carnage. Both boys had parents that did not take the time with their children, nor did they get them the medical counseling and medications they needed (even though both families had the money to afford it). One family knew their son had emotional problems yet kept unlocked guns and ammo in the house. The Columbine shooting has been used to showcase bullying, but it was SO much more than that... |

You and your verbose cousin below wrote entire books on this song yet neither of you know what you're talking about :D |
