This song is about a broken relationship, both of them are hurting eachother. 'I apologize for the demon I've become' - He's done something wrong, or some wrong things. 'You should be sorry for the angel you are not' - She should stop being hypocritical and thinking she is any better in this relationship than she. The fact is, both have done things wrong, hurt eachother, abused eachother, but she blames him and believes she has done no wrong at all. 'Forgive me if I told you that I cared' - He believes he doesn't care, because he did all those things to hurt her. He's telling her he no longer cares about her so she'll 'Walk away...' 'Would you be sorry if I swore that I'd be there' - Would she be sorry for the things that she had done if he stayed with her, and wasn't actively looking for a way to release himself from this broken relationship. 'Please forgive me for laughing when you fall' - Maybe bitterness in the relationship. Taking amusement when she gets hurt and fails. Broken relationships tend to ending, and lead to either anger at eachother or bitterness. 'I'm so sorry, but I never cared at all!' - A further ruse to hurt her and make her walk away. I believe they can't leave eachother but are doing things out of spite to make the other 'Walk away, and pretend none of this is real'. I think it's about a relationship that has been broken irrepairably, to the point where it can't be fixed, and both parties are suffering through the relationship. They hurt eachother, stay with eachother, but ultimately, they both want the other to Walk away...and release them from their hell...(the relationship.) It's what I took atleast. |

I think it may be about not knowing what happens after you die. He speaks of a few different derivatives, like going to the sky, charon (the gondola man to the underworld). It also has a really medievel aura to it. In Greek mythology and around those times, you had to put coins on someone who passes away to pay Charon, to get into the underworld. If this did not happen, they would be forbidden entrance into the underworld, I'm not sure where the 100 years of disease comes from. Along the shore many faces accumulate In preparation for the underworld Single file, ghost by ghost The deck fills up to embark on the final sail -- Or it may just be about dying, simply. This paragraph details people boarding the ship to the underworld, which again, Charon is the captain of, and you must pay him for the ride. Bad lyrics are bad...But I think I had to give a shot at this. Bad title, too. |

Well this song was written specifically for 'City of Angels'. An angel cannot be seen in that movie without wishing it, and they never let anyone see them, cuz frankly the humans wont understand what he is, or what is going on. The rest of the lyrics are hints of the plot of the movie, i.e. him giving up eternity to be with her (falling), and becoming human, etc. The song made the movie 100000 times better. |

This song is about parental negligence. I was at concert when they played this song, he explained that it was to all the girls that just weren't loved how they deserved to be... The father never wanted the daughter, neglected her and didn't show her the proper love he should have as a parent. Even though she strived to be perfect and to impress him daily, he still just wouldn't listen to her. She continues trying to impress him and refuses to see that it won't work, the father just won't listen to her. The dad eventually leaves the daughter, presumably ejecting himself from her life at a young age. She grows up with the reasoning that it was her fault, that if she would've tried harder he would've loved her. Why didn't he love her? What did she do wrong? Casting blame on herself she goes through life with a sadness that is incomprehensible. All because of his lack of care about her, negligence, and generally his cold heart. People don't understand how much children need their parents, both of them. And it isn't easy going through life with the loss of either, or even both...the people who have decent parents are very lucky, especially in this day of age. You don't have any idea how much of a gift it is, and you take it for granted. |

No comments. Presumably because it is obvious. It's in the point of view of the person who killed themselves, talking to their lover/loved one. She talks about how she hurts them, and how it isn't their fault, and how they couldn't have prevented it. They're sorry for hurting the people or persons, and regret doing it. In the end they talk about letting the other person(s) move on. To shed their fears, and to find love again...I'm more swayed by the thought that its a lover, "to find love again..." but song tend to be generalized these days, and to project their meaning to as many audiences as possible. This song is truely sad, and inspired by a true happening in the eyes of Boyce Avenue. |

Well...I believe the title is called "Believe In Nothing", for starters. Secondly, I believe it's about religion. "Pray for tomorrow and find you're empty still..." Not just religion, but the fact that religion is false and misguiding. I believe he's telling people not to believe any of it. Or it might just be, don't believe in anything. Pave your own way, don't let things or other people guide you. Guide yourself. Live yourself. |

I believe it is just about standing up for yourself (or something). That we should band or pull together, stop divison among eachother, i.e. countries, different groups with different opinions. Pull together and work toward one goal. "It is time to address the fact that alone None of us can survive" This world won't last long if we are constantly fighting each other, killing each other and senselessly inhibiting progression through the fighting. Only way for us to survive is to work together. That is just my take atleast. |
