| Brooke Fraser – Betty Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Any idea what "Y.S.L. kicks" is a reference to? I'm also not getting the Toronto part; is that a piece of the Canada-birthmark showing? | |

| Huh, is this song really in Chinese? For some reason it sounded German to me. | |

I don't want to plagiarize, so I won't reproduce any of the content here, but this blog post has some excellent insight into the meaning behind the song as well as technical things like rhyme and rhythm. http://aworshipcollective.wordpress.com/2015/02/05/mewithoutyou-post/ |

| Envy – Left Hand Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
This is one of my favorite Envy songs. There's something about the guitars that has this urgency of emotion that I love. The lyrics above are correct (according to the booklet), but I thought I'd try my hand at translating what I understand the song to be saying into English (based on my knowledge of Japanese from growing up in Japan as a native speaker). Put the forcefully erased emotions on lines Earless cells and the mind to solve the stolen cipher are already torn off A red arrow I cannot touch penetrates my body Made up excuses reject the voice of the minority Responsibility is cast to the sky above Resistance crumbles so easily Discrimination is born A light I cannot grasp pierces my eye The cursed thumb on my left hand runs away swiftly With harsh sounds as weapons Glaring back at glaring eyes There is nothing but a subtle shift that comes That changes That is thrown away That paralyzes accepted norms Unleash the spellbound |

| Matt & Toby – The Last One Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This song reminds me a bit of What Play's in My Head of the same album by Matt & Toby. In What Play's in My Head, the singer talks about a life where his loved one has passed away. This one is sort of an inverse... the singer has passed away, and we get to see his son and wife that were left behind. A beautiful, touching song, that haunts my mind as the music dies and the silence fills the room. |

I wonder "the final sentence" was? Also, I'm having a really hard time trying to think of sentences that end in the word 'love'... |

| Training For Utopia – Two Hands Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Love this song! and the lyrics. I believe he's singing: "An angel cries, it burns her eyes, and she sings a different song." Instead of "...it burns here. Yes,..." |

| Delta-S – The Phoenix Effect Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Any idea what these lyrics are about? It'd be easy to interpret some of the lines sexually, but I don't think that's what this song is about. What's the Phoenix Effect? Anybody talked to Lyte about it? |

| Envy – A Cage It Falls Into Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I know Japanese and English and it seems to me like the first stanza would have been better translated: wind against my back/my face against the sky/I'm falling/falling... picking up feathers one by one/I'm drifting/drifting (or maybe flowing is better, I dunno) The Japanese lyrics for the first stanza are: 空ã«å‘ã‹ã„ã€é¢¨ã‚’å—ã‘ãªãŒã‚‰ (sora ni mukai, kaza wo ukenagara) è½ã¡ã¦è¡Œã (ochite yuku) è½ã¡ã¦è¡Œã (ochite yuku) 羽を一ã¤ä¸€ã¤æ‹¾ã„集゠(hane wo hitotsu hitotsu hiroi atsume) æµã‚Œè¡Œã (nagare yuku) æµã‚Œè¡Œã (nagare yuku) |
