Pearl Jam - Immortality Native American version Vacate is the word. (-Obvious.) Vengeance has no place so near to her. (Earth.) Cannot find the comfort in this world. Artificial tear, ("A single tear", an American invention to pretend sympathy from government/corporate/media) Vessel stabbed (The most important item in the village was the sacred bundle. Believed to have gifted by God's or ancient ancestors. The sacred bundle was regularly destroyed when Americans invaded Native villages.) Next up, volunteers? (Sarcasm.) Vulnerable wisdom can't adhere. ("The Sacred Bundle holds a profound and enduring significance. It represents a tangible bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds." The "wisdom" was vulnerable to the sociopaths.) A truant finds home, (Nomadic tribes, or all nomads during the forced travel.) and a wish to hold on (Begins another tribal settlement or village in the locations they were told are safe, but Americans violated the contract and made them leave the new location too. Natives hold on to their own culture regardless of all the abuses.) but there's a trap door in the sun. (One way to retain your society or culture while the invaders try to forcefully assimilate you is to ensure that your religion and language continues. The "Sun Dance" was a multi-village, multi-tribe ceremony that was prohibited by American governments. Retaining your culture via Sun Dance is a trap to get more abuse or violence.) Immortality. (Fame caused by abuse; permanent mental picture in society of historical Natives instead of actual Natives today.) As privileged as a whore. (Obvious, and additional layered commentary that Natives were told that they are receiving benefits or privileges.) Victims in demand for public show. (Movies, circuses, actors told to portray historical characters in modern non-scifi settings.) Swept out through the cracks beneath the door. (Obvious.) Holier than thou. How? (Disney's Pocahontas explains this line.) Surrendered, executed, anyhow. (Actually killed even if they surrendered, in some cases.) Scrawl dissolved. (Signed treaties that Americans quickly decided to ignore the signatures of and commit more violence.) Cigar box on the floor. (Cigars and boxes are a "trope" associated with Native Americans.) A truant finds home, and I wish to hold on too, but saw the trap door in the sun. Immortality. I cannot stop the thought of running in the dark. Coming up a which way sign. All good truants must decide. Stripped and sold mom. (This verse starts with "I". Eddie Vedder talks about his own mom, "sold out" by the lyrics to "Alive". When he rewrote the lyrics, he left this line in the way it is, because Earth is also a "mother" that was literally stripped and also literally sold, by Americans, in contrast to basic principles of life that Natives loved under before they arrived. That's why this line says "mom" instead of "mother".) Auctioned forearm (Americans graverobbing and then removing the tattoos from the body and selling it as framed artwork, which the Natives were horrified by because the dead men still had living relatives.) and whiskers in the sink. (Forced shaving of beards by military. Maybe Eddie's personal experience that he wrote the song for also involved himself shaving. Or maybe talking about head hair would be too obvious to the audience who he wants to obscure the song's meaning from.) Truants move on, cannot stay long. Some die just to live. (Protest ethos; fight for your rights, liberty or death.) This is the only proposed interpretation that has zero missing lines or words that have no specific explanation. |

| Chevelle – Vitamin R (Leading Us Along) Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| This song is about vulnerable narcissism. Each "verse" is the next stage of the real action ship. If you love me, then you have the key, to fix my own NPD, so that means we can still commiserate together about "them". You haven't used it yet, why haven't you used it yet if you love me? I have extreme psychic powers, levitation is obviously possible, I will just focus on that instead of you. Why are you pushing it instead of just letting me ignore you with no problem when I can become powerful by myself? Yes they did do the original thing to me, but you are mad when I pay no attention to you and/or to your feelings at all while I am your fiancé, so now it is you, and not the original people who actually abused me legitimately, who are making me a slave to myself as I say all these things in the song. Now I am screaming and raping or hitting or revealing secrets or using the most extreme or abusive insults on you... Panic makes remorse, I have hurt the one I love, I am guilty, so therefore I guess I don't love her anymore. I refer to myself in the third person because he's alone and vulnerable narcissism contains a component of schizophrenia. I can suffer now and have anxiety and panic or scream abuse, but I can't suffer then because then I would have to remember and I will forever pretend to forget and suffer now instead. | |

And also the whole entire army would have to want the exact same thing?\r\n\r\nThis is the victim of a clinical narcissist (starts out with the protagonist being the narcissist, obviously).

| @[Cln3Camn:41637] ...OMG, Unforgiven has three parts and two of them literally directly and plainly talk about the literal girlfriend who comes to save (during all of the second song) him from the literal direct personal abuse from his literal parents or orphanage or whoever is doing so before teen age. When you want political songs go and listen to PARIS (song "What Would You Do?" to start). Also Chris Ray Gun and Tom MacDonald for feminazi fun. Maybe Rise Against but they apparently began to follow some feminism after the first bit. Even Muse if you want to be vague and poetic about it. Not Metallica. Like their most obviously-definitely "RL-war-related" song ("One") is literally about supporting or caring for an American soldier. | |

| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| @[rocknrollrocks:41635] "The Day That Never Comes" is about a male abuser - also, aren\'t female overt narcissists much less forgetful in the ways that would allow you to easily manipulate them back? Aren\'t they more skilled at redirecting conversations without the open aggression etc.? In fact, female overt narcissists might literally complain at "your" "aggression" when you keep the conversation on track and you might not even yell, instead of violently assaulting you either physically or verbally, actually forcing you to scream rather then doing so do to your emotions. Since this involuntary and literal forgetfulness is the most a manipulatable trait for the narcissist, it seems that female overts would be less able to be back-manipulated. Thus, that plus the other song makes it seem to be likely that the abuser in the sing is male. Although then again a male victim might be much more willing to term his realization of some regained control, using the same evil terms when speaking back... but then again, the abuser is not using these actual poetic words to describe themself, but rather, Metallica is using the poetic wording, as no overt narcissist is capable of making poetic and evoking words. Of course, although males in general might be willing to cite such terms back to the abuser, agressive\\hatred-tendency (in response to valid reasons) sort of males wouldn\'t be likely to marry an abuser in the first place, and additionally, many female victims are not too great of people, they gossip, demand on other victims (to divorce etc.), and pretend that literally not one single thing ever done by the narcissist can possibly be neutral or good (when they defended someone from someone who did abuse in a way which they would not do (such as a cashier)? yes, that is actually a good thing to do if done normal to acceptably). After all, you have to be fairly incapable of love in order to have any possibility whatsoever to begin a relationship with an overt narcissist in the first place, someone who has absolutely no skills to even pretend like they are listening or comforting someone validly and fully. Therefore, I guess the percentage of female victims of narcissist husbands, compared to other female victims of other abuses or victims of non-husband narcissists, would indeed have a higher number of females who could think like "ha ha you are obeying me now, puppet!" instead of the non-evil way to think, "oh good, he didn\'t remember that, I can read my book without anxiety for now then....". After successfully claiming it was two weeks ago instead of 6 months ago that he first demanded you to do that unreasonable thing that you won\'t do. So due to the reasons I stated at the beginning of this comment, the abuser in this song is probably male. | |
| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| @[louis4metal:41634] Nah, no one really tried to make Hitler "obey a master" at then end of the song when the victim is manipulating back, nor did Hitler "play at passion" or have loyalty towards him BY THE SAME groups he was killing.... Jews did not love Hitler, unlike in this song where the victim has (or is believed by the evil protagonist to have) extreme loyalty towards him. | |
| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| @[Danny84:41633] The last verse, and the entire last half of the song, the speaker is the narcissist\'s victim who is using his idiocy against him and is parroting his proclaiment of "pulling strings" etc. | |
| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| @[Clocker:41632] This is great compared to all the other idiotic comments. \r\n\r\nBut the evil here is not "unknown force", it is a human, a clinical overt narcissist. (It\'s not a sociopath because the sociopath\'s victim wouldn\'t be able to "turn the tables" if they are in a "Relationship", which they are because this is after the " end of" the narcissist\'s "playing passion", because he makes breakfast, and because the victim "never betrays" at first. It\'s also not a sociopath because the victim refers to the abuse as his "natural habitat", as a narcissist, rather then being something he\'s purposely created, as a sociopath, and because he does not continue to act perfectly towards the victim until discard (as a sociopath), but rather, he begins abusing immediately (as a narcissist), when he creates "veins that pump with fear" and "smashing of dream", but during the time he is doing this she "never betrays". A sociopath\'s discard does not result in continued or increased loyalty.)\r\n\r\nAlthough an "unseen evil" can be described in similar words, and no overt narcissist can possibly describe himself and victim poetically. This is Metallica\'s poetry, not the narcissist\'s. An "unseen evil" cannot be "rebutted manipulation" so quickly, merely by manipulating other "strings", and in most cases the unseen vague pokteirgeist cannot be manipulated much helpfully at all. Lastly, under no circumstances is the terrorized victim also " never betraying", "beginning with passion", or " dedicated to me killing you", while she is also being terrorized during the professed loyalty.\r\n\r\nThe loyalty thing is indeed a bit out of place, as victims of overt narcissists are not so loyal to their husbands as incidents of abuse are clear and recognizable easily by all victims during each individual incident other then successful and extremely literal gaslighting (i.e. literally sneaking around to turn the lights back on etc.). However, since he is a narcissist, he can easily falsely believe and proclaim of the loyalty, regardless of the daily 5-hour-long screaming matches and the instant recount of whatever extremely abusive and revealing thing was said 5 minutes ago every time the relative walks in at the requisite time. A vulnerable narcissist can have actual loyalty, but will not think at all in the very evil way described in the song. | |
| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 3 years ago |
| Every song on Earth is not magically about drugs, especially when drugs are not mentioned or even alluded to anywhere in the song, please fuck off.\n\nThis song is very, very obviously when the overt narcissist abuses the victim, and then the victim learns his inability of memory and other basic life skills, and also uses them to ensure certain things. | |

| George Michael – Father Figure Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[DouglasM:39516] "Acting like a man" requires nothing more then existing and having a penis. All adults who have penises automatically "act like men" at all times, because that is the definition of the word "man" and obviously anyone who fots that definition is always acting like himself. It most definitely does not require seducing small children while talking about their "tiny hand" or that their "father figure wants tk be naked next to them", in order to "act male". | |
| George Michael – Father Figure Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[JJRed213:39515] There are no "disturbing secrets" that exist about George Michael. Obviously he is a pedophile, but there is absolitely no evidence of this anywhere besides the lyrics in his songs. There was no annoucement, media, arresT, or anything else. It literally isn't even mentioned in ANY REMOTE WAY on Wikipedia. There is absolutely literally nothing, "given that we know", except for knoing anything via song lyrics. | |
| George Michael – Father Figure Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| @[laleonur:39514] There is absolutely nothing about "religion" in this song, nor is there any large religion which exists which actively promotes pedophilia. (This includes Islam - accusations against Muslims are based solely on a disputed age of a character in their favorite novel, and are NOT instead based on any actual doctrine or preached idea in their religion.) | |
| George Michael – Father Figure Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| This song is about how George Michael is a pedophile. It is verified that it is George Michael, and not some writer who wrote lyrics for him instead, by hearing or seeing the lyrics of many of George Michael's other songs, in which he also sings about how the song protagonist is a pedophile. In the case of George Michael, he is also either a child molester or a "wishful thinking child molester", as he sings how he actively wishes to "be naked by your side", for example, rather then a mere non-criminal pedophile, singing about how he sucessfully refuses to date or have sex with children younger then 13, for example, or how it is easy to never do this because you are not missing anything other then sex, or how other pedophiles should also refuse to have sex with or attenot to date small children. Instead of this, asa good pedophile would sing, George Michael sings about how he wants the child to "understand him," "be the sea to their desert", and "be naked by their side", indocating that he is an actual or hopefil child molester instead of only a pedophile. | |

They just lie about it to their current or other partners,. They often lie abiut their mother as well, which is why as soon as you mention and help them complain about these "terrible" alleged people, they instantly become mad at you and perhaps even want to break up for the fiest time (which, if they are at least moderately serious, will mark the time when they never act truky caring to you during arguments again).

| @[Justasong:39512] You are completely wrong. When the author of a song is singing from the perspective of their abuser, that most obviously does not "promote abuse". In addition, songs like this, although this particular song is not too in-depth, they are very valuable because people still continue to claim things like "he is nice to his friends" in case the victim has the same group of friends as their partner does - they literally even claim things like "In that case, you should have just explained the phrase "I am going to the store now" in a more understandable way to your abuser" when he is an OVERT narcissist, let alone a vulnerable narcissist. | |

| Three Days Grace – Time Of Dying Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| The narrator has promised someone who is extremely important to him that he will not try to kill himself again. If he thinks about doing so, he will wait for that friend or Partner to "come back", to come back on the phone, to come back to the relationship, to come back to the country, or etc., so that he doesn't have to. | |
| Three Days Grace – Time Of Dying Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| The narrator is the victim of a covert narcissist (which also fits with several other Three Days Grace songs), who he is truly very truly in Love with. He feels suicidal or similarly to suicidal, often, due to her abuse. Or he has felt that way in the past often, before a better understanding and learning of how to work within such a relationship if the covert narcissist really does care while the victim does Truly Love the Partner as well. When the victim does feel suicidal or similar, he will wait for her to decide to commit suicide as well, or he will tolerate this part of the month in exchange for being able to be next to her when she cares. Either he does not want to hurt her life even more with his suicide, or the song is a message to her about the harm she invokes, or the song is a message to outsiders that just because someone is a covert narcissist does not automatically require for you to "want" to move out of the house you live in together and thus be forced to kill yourself due to the lack of your Loved Partner in the house. | |

This is obviously not the writer's meaning but it is my meaning for me. I was alone and dark and you saved me from the pain (1st paragraph as posted) I didn't want you and I wasn't supposed to Love you but I Loved you anyway when you wanted me (2nd verse as posted) Then you lied to everyone and said everything wrong and it made no sense and WTF. (3rd paragraph first two lines as posted) And you lied to everyone else as well for no reason to say stupid things about me and lied to everyone and everything (3rd paragraph first 5 lines as posted) But everyone you know believed you (3rd paragraph last line as posted) The impossible thing of Loving you when I was not supposed to and set myself on fire in the literal, torturous/painful meaning (But I set fire to the rain) And the rain is the tears and they will never stop (Watched it pour as I touched your face) I found out you are horrible but I still want you and Love you ('Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!) Next paragraph is obvious and does not / can not be interpreted I killed it somehow I should have done something else even tough it was your fault from #2 (And I threw us into the flames) Now I see what you are and you have decided not to Love me but without cause (Where it felt something die) And there will be no more times and no more trust when you were the last trust (Set fire to the rain) and the only guaranteed trust (Set fire to the rain) and there are no more people and there is no more possible and it also won't because after the last line of "when I felt something die" I will kill myself so there is no more ('Cause I knew that that was the last time, the last time) And the last paragraph is obvious and does not need to be interpreted after you read the rest of my own meaning and when she says "Let it burn" over and over at the end (or at least that's what this post says) that will be the burning of a life. |

| "I don't remember why I came,"... why would you? You are separated form your body! Herion, I think, would hinder that, not help it. | |

This song is so obviously about the persecution of witches. Have you ever wondered why you fly in your dreams? They are astral projections. Nearly every human on Earth has had some experience which can prove the existence of magick. Now, clearly not untrue. The verses are about the experiences and the call of the magick. A premonition, a call to the Other Realms. Then a Calling to dance and a Gift of Abundance from the gods. The song also starts with "Open your eyes." Very appropriate. |
