Burnt Offerings Lyrics
In one last breath
You'll feel this damned old soul
You'll see the things I see
For all these years
Of pain and sacrifice
You'll know the pain I know
Of all these things
I offer unto you
Infernal wisdom waits
Now unleashed
Like the flames of hate
My sacrifice is made
Every note
And every word you hear
Comes from deep within
An angry soul
That twists and turns inside
Pondering this life
Crimson eyes
Staring through your lies
Awakes the inner rage
Take my knife
Make my sacrifice
You're my burnt offering
Spill your blood
Offer me good omen
Make the sacrifice, the hours close at hand
Burn your soul
Offer me good omen
Take your very life, this I command
Dark shadows fall on this sacred ground
Where true evil lies, summon them to rise
Take the traitors, thieves and liars
Feed them to the fire
But first, spread their blood around
The message will be found
Walk carefully my friends stab my back again
A warning from the sky
These are not idle threats my friends
We're slaughtering the lambs
True vengeance is on the rise
The traitors shall be damned
Cast their bodies to the flames
Spill your blood
Offer me good omen
Make the sacrifice, the hours close at hand
Burn your soul
Offer me good omen
Take your very life, this I command
You'll feel this damned old soul
You'll see the things I see
Of pain and sacrifice
You'll know the pain I know
I offer unto you
Infernal wisdom waits
Like the flames of hate
My sacrifice is made
And every word you hear
Comes from deep within
That twists and turns inside
Pondering this life
Staring through your lies
Awakes the inner rage
Make my sacrifice
You're my burnt offering
Offer me good omen
Make the sacrifice, the hours close at hand
Burn your soul
Offer me good omen
Take your very life, this I command

the official lyrics after "a warning from the sky" are "of the lust and lies"....when i listen to it i hear "fuck with us and die". This or 1776 has to be my favorite song by Iced Earth
Hey I watched the 1992 remake of Dracula and the monster Dracula growled something at the characters in the middle of the movie and it sounds exactly like thew growling at the beginning of Burnt Offerings before the guitars kicked in. I dont know what Dracula said though.
a part of the beginning things sounds like he says "...look what your God has done to me"
This is my fav song on the CD it just sounds so dark and evil but not all satanic and shit.
Inspired by the anger in Schaffer after the three year strike of Iced Earth to reconsider their record contract.
He says 'i was betrayed, look what your god has done to me' Im pretty sure it supposed to be what dracula says before his final battle, which i think 'historically' supposed to be with van helsing. and no, im not saying that cause i saw the movie, thats supposidly how it happened
Yeah that's exaclty what it is, it's what Gary Oldman mutters when he first transforms into a big demon in Bram Stroker's: Dracula.
He is talking to his record company in this song.
Damn, he was really pissed about that record contract, wasn't he?
Yeah well that's not so strange! I'm just a fan and even I'm pissed off! But I do disagree with Schaffer though I think Burnt Offerings is among their best albums! And Barlow's voice in the chorus of this song is as amazing as a human voice can be! Man I wish he was still in the band! I like Owens' voice to but Barlow is simply the best!
neovulcan. Holy Shit I know what you are talking about. I thought they said "fuck with us and die". How wierd. Maybe it is a thing they put in there as a little secret that only a few people would notice.
