Sic62 I say good job.
Anonymous23, you actually have a right interpretation in your eyes. Because instead of calling someone else's best friend whiney or emo. Read what he wrote. It actually does make since. Because I had the same reaction. I listened to the song, and then connected it with the same aspect that Anonymous had. Just because the real writer of the song has a different meaning towards, you're the one listening to the song and creating the meaning itself. I think that's why someone created this site. To help better understand other's interpretations of a song. To help others better listen the words that are being sung.

It's honestly all up to how you see and portray it.

10 Years – Drug Of Choice Lyrics 17 years ago
When I first heard this song, it hit me that it was about different drugs. Upon listening to more of the songs in the Division album, I was certain this actually had to do with different "drugs". Mind me, that I only listened to this song once, hence my early interpretation.
Anyways, I'm sure of it now, that this song has to deal with the fact that the youth today, along with most adults find a natural high in all the wrong things. Such as the media. Different TV shows, and so forth. Anything that the media has brought in to seduce the youth into watching, or commending the un-natural acts portrayed in the media.

Fashion slaves;
The trends with change;

Easily said. Now, I can't say that I have never followed a trend, and it's easier said that you have. Jesse, has strong words within these lyrics.

How much we pay;
To be taylor made;

Using money to buy happiness, or instant gratification.

Society today has honestly grown into some selfish bastards. Hopefully in the future things will change. If they do, I feel sorry for our kids who'll look back and see what dumbasses we are, and how we managed to fuck up our generation.

10 Years – Russian Roulette Lyrics 17 years ago
I think I have the Christ has the left the manger part down. I know people who keep asking what that means. So I've just spent time listening to the song, and just thinking about what it could me. So here we go:

I'm pretty sure that this song also has to do with worshiping drugs. Always wanting more, spending all your money on them, always wanting. Same with Christ. Christians, worship him and always ask for more of him, give offering, and always seem to get that spiritual high. Which is a good thing in the religion it self. So Basically, as soon as Christ left the manger, he then went out, preached, and called himself the Son of God. As to say. So, people or drug dealers, or instigators of the drugs. Go around, and sell, or give a sample of this "Chemical Christ". They, then find those people who will take this drug, and use it.

Hopefully anyone else who was wondering what that meant, can use my interpretation to help answer your questions. If I'm wrong, don't bash on me, just tell your ways.

A Static Lullaby – Lipgloss And Letdown Lyrics 17 years ago
Hahaha, good song.
Before I listened to it. I just read the song title. Lipgloss and Letdown, and I freaked because I thought it would be similar to Atreyu's Lipgloss and Black. Hmmm. NOPE.

Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics 17 years ago
To me, this song represents 3 different people.

Look at me, look at me
hands in the air like it's good to be
ALIVE
and I'm a famous rapper
even when the paths're all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want cuz, look:

This talks about 1 person who's very care-free and just happy to be alive and free. Just lives and lives and does what he does to be happy.

Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
ALIVE
In such a small world
I'm all curled up with a book to read
I can make money open up a thrift store
I can make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty four
Miles to the gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics
I can make a computer survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business
And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers, shakers, and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the systems
I can do anything with no assistance

This part is about the 2nd person and how he's into making a change in the world. Or seeks to be that change by creating or seizing the day to make everything right.

Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let'em all die from exasperation
Have'em all healed from their lacerations
Or have'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like 'em
And I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command

This is the 3rd person. Talking about being head of a "nation." Someone who can do anything because they can and the power.

In all, I say it's 3 different perspectives on the main people in this world. The 3 perspectives that matter the most in the world: Care-free person. One who seeks to make or be the change. Power hungry or powerful and can do anything because they can.

Matchbox Twenty – How Far We've Come Lyrics 18 years ago
It may mean many things to different people. First time I listened to it, it just came off to me as a good songs. As soon as I listened to it with one of my friends. It kinda hit me that, maybe it means you should look back with someone else, and see how far you've actually come with that person. It seems to have worked for me, considering that it says; Let's see how far we've come.
