Oh I know your kind
You would kill your king for the right prize
Oil and water thicker then blood
Oh I know your type
Use us to get what you wanted
You cant finish what you started
I find it kinda funny how you try
To rectify the damage
Your failure to find compromise
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground
Your lying to yourself
And to everyone that
Knows your name
You play the part of
The fool so well
Oh I know your type
Use us to get what you wanted
You cant finish what you've started
I find it kind of funny how you try
To rectify the damage
Your failure to find compromise
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground
Oh, oh
Oh I know your type
Your failure to find compromise
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground
You would kill your king for the right prize
Oil and water thicker then blood
Oh I know your type
You cant finish what you started
I find it kinda funny how you try
To rectify the damage
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground
And to everyone that
Knows your name
You play the part of
The fool so well
Oh I know your type
You cant finish what you've started
I find it kind of funny how you try
To rectify the damage
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground
Oh, oh
The walls are coming down
Will you survive sacrifice
Or tumble to the ground

It's about the War on Terror. Basically asking if the president finds his decision to send soldiers is worth it. Called Alabama as rural states are where alot of soldiers come from.
Well, I know this song isn't about what I'm about to say but I met a person and they became my friend, I knew I was gunna have issues with them but tried to see past those issues and well.. basically ignored who they were, and then over this past year I realized the kind of person they are and I didn't like it so I told them straight up that I'm done with this friendship [we've have a billion arguments and this has been mentioned before, so it's not like it's new] and yeah. The lyrics to this song just really fit her personality and who she is.. I kinda found it funny how well the two go together. Anyway. :)
10 Years doesn't write lyrics about your whiney, emo, best friend relationship. Go listen to fall out boy.
Sic62 you nailed this.
I know that's not what the song is about .. ;l if you read what I said you'd clearly know that..
Sic got it.
Sic62 I say good job. Anonymous23, you actually have a right interpretation in your eyes. Because instead of calling someone else's best friend whiney or emo. Read what he wrote. It actually does make since. Because I had the same reaction. I listened to the song, and then connected it with the same aspect that Anonymous had. Just because the real writer of the song has a different meaning towards, you're the one listening to the song and creating the meaning itself. I think that's why someone created this site. To help better understand other's interpretations of a song. To help others better listen the words that are being sung.
It's honestly all up to how you see and portray it.
Yeah, my grammar is fucked up in my last comment. EH. FAIL.
Yup Sic62. And thanks, cuz i hadnt figured out why Alabama.
Actually, Sic is wrong. I listened to Lewis and the guys in an interview, and he said that this song is called "Alabama" because of how it sounds (like Alabama blues/rock). Also, when Jesse writes lyrics, they usually aren't political in connotation, but personal to his life and his friends' lives. This song is about someone in Jesse's life, someone he and the band knows, who acts this way, selfishly, and without remorse.
