I was listening to Blueboy's album "Unisex" for the first time awhile ago and found out that violins in Higher Power were sampled from the first song in Unisex, "So Catch Him". Im suprised no one has commented on this yet, even though Jens samples them in such a way, youd think its his own. |

Exactly. One of the oddest yet most sentimental love/crush songs ive ever heard. |

goo-boo-koos? is that 70's lingo for doing drugs or something? Well eitherway, this is probably one of my favorite songs in all of Third, yet the subject matter always makes me doubt my liking of it. Alex must have been in a really bad relationship to rather shoot a woman than a man.
Also, the third verse makes no sense to me. What does he mean by busted across the bridge? Another drug reference to being caught with them? Or am i just assuming every 70's rock band was doing drugs some time or another? |

One the best songs among the many other great songs in Something/Anything. Im not sure if anyone knows what is it that he's saying in the slow-mo intro, maybe i'll try speeding the song up to see if i can understand it. |

| Jens Lekman – And I Remember Every Kiss Lyrics
| 18 years ago

I found a demo version long before his new album was put wich had the lyrics "There will be no hanky panky tonight" instead of "there will be no kisses".
Im guessing 'Hanky Panky' is slang for kissing or sex right? |

This is song is so strange, i couldnt at first believe it was actually recorded live. Its so creepy and yet full of weird sensuality in Calvin's lyrics and the female crowd. I wonder if this song ever really worked live for them on any other ocassion, i cant imagine it anyother way. |

Actually I find this song good for sleeping. Id never drive with this on! Its awesome at the begining but after the song goes on repeteating the synth riff, I can only stay awake for so long. But then again t might be good ambient music if your not focused on listening to it. |

This is my favorite song on the 6th's second album. Sung by Katharine Whalen, the song has such an amazing grace and the minimal ukele accomponying just makes this love song perfect. |

Stereo would ruin this song!
Has anyone noticed how many songs the drum at the beggining appears? Jesus and Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey" for one. |

The first five seconds sound more like a reference to The Ronnettes "Be My Baby" which has been emulated in so many songs (this one, the already mentioned Jesus and Mary Chain song, Magnetic Fields "Candy" and The Beach Boys "Don't Worry Baby" to name a few. ) |

Its always songs like these, the ones written and sung by the other members stuck between the Chilton songs, that help one get through the entire album and diversity and balance to Alex Chilton's mostly dark depressing songs. Very beautiful |

I think this is the only song being sung by Jody Stephens in Third and its probably the least depressing song in it (except for maybe Jesus Christ). Its very calm and yet there is a sense of romance that has been either absent or denied by the rest of the Chilton songs. |

It's not about Chris Bell, cause he died on December 1978, while the album was recorded in 1974 and released in 1978. It is odly prophetic though.
I believe the song might be about death though, yet the album itself is so full of it all throught that it could simply be the numbness Alex gets from everything, even driving. |

This is it.
This is THE BEST early, pre-Merrit vocalist Magnetic Fields song along with 10,000 Fireflies and probably one of the best Magnetic Fields songs PERIOD.
Merrit creates almost a perfect wall of sound, that im sure only the original Spector could ever create. This song just fills you with sound. |
