| Rush – The Stars Look Down Lyrics

I've read various stories about this song. One said that this was inspired by a sci-fi graphic novel and the other about questioning faith due to tragic events. Either case I really enjoy it. |

I interpret it as a young person moving beyond simple living and going to the city to strike his fortune. |

| Rush – Peaceable Kingdom Lyrics

"Peaceable Kingdom" is a literary vice about the old world when animals all lived in peace before mankind came around. Now that we are beyond that time period, all we can do is hold onto some of these past truths of peace and justice. |

"And when the dawn begins to creep
Sunlight finds you in a heap
And how you wish that you could sleep "
I think of a newly embraced vampire who is coming to terms with their undead existence. |

This song reminds me of a car chase with law enforcement as a young couple, caught up in unusual circumstances, are trying to flee from the law. |

| The Verve – Blue Lyrics

My interpretation is that Blue is Richard's muse who he has a love/hate relationship with. He feels her inspiration for creativity but the path to it often is a troubling one.
You can also go with the drug reference and how Blue can make us all do things out of character. |

| The Verve – Make It 'Til Monday Lyrics

|
I interpret this as a song about coming down from a drug hallucination, fearing that death is just around the corner, and hanging in there because there will always be a Monday. |

| The Verve – Come On Lyrics

To me it's Mad Richard speaking out about fame and all of the turmoil the band went through in order to make it big. In an issue of Rolling Stone, Richard is on the cover and inside, the article quotes him as saying "It's about fu**in time." |
