| Manic Street Preachers – The Everlasting Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I always believed it to be about Richey James. A sort of tribute to him after his disappearance. It's a sweet song anyways, no matter the meaning. |
| The Doors – Riders On The Storm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm pretty sure this song is about Billy Cook. The hitchhiker dude. It might have deeper meanings, though. I do know that The Hitcher was based off of this song. One of my favourite Doors songs, by the way. =) |
| The Boo Radleys – Wake Up Boo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
actually, this song was written on an acid trip, at least from what was written on the website. i do like this song, as it's extremely fun to dance to. even in the summer. even though in the song the summer's gone. but i also like other songs. fairfax scene is good. |
| Blur – No Distance Left to Run Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"When your coming down, think of me here" that line really sticks out to me. i think it's about how justine [his ex-girlfriend] depended on drugs, and so it's sort of like when she's coming down from her high. otherwise, ace song. (: |
| Manic Street Preachers – If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Lyrics | 17 years ago |
my favorite song. (: i think that it's kind of telling the story of a soldier during the spanish civil war who doesn't want to fight and kill, but is trying to convince himself that it's a just cause. for example, i think he's repeated 'if you tolerate this, then your children will be next' because it's on a war poster; he's trying to make this into a just cause. |

| Bowling for Soup – I Melt With You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

OH. MY. GOD. NOBODY has commented on the fact that this is originally by Modern English. They changed it. It's so crappy now. ): |
| The Who – Baba O'Riley Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Oh, yes, and I cannot STAND it when people call it Teenage Wasteland -- and then when I correct them they get all uppity. | |
| The Who – Baba O'Riley Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song isn't about rebellion, drugs, sex... The song was supposed to be in a rock opera to follow up 'Tommy'. Pete he was inspired by the song when he saw people complaining but not doing anything about it. At a concert Pete said he didn't even know what it was about. xD Anywho. Great song. LOVE IT. It's started my whole British-classic-rock phase. (: Which is not a bad phase to be in. |

| Ben Folds – Learn To Live With What You Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"Sometimes Everything you’ve ever wanted Floats above He’s sticking out his tongue and laughing While everything Anyone can ever need Is down below Waiting for you To know this There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you While the world is watching All you need is the thing you’ve forgotten And that's to learn to live with what you are" My favorite verse. ♥ |

| Emmann123:: He means that the parents of his girlfriend didn't know and it was time for him to tell what was going on. | |
| Beastie Boys – Slow and Low Lyrics | 18 years ago |
In the booklet included with the Beastie Boys' anthology set The Sounds of Science Adam Yauch (MCA) noted that "Slow and Low" was first recorded by Run-D.M.C. in the sessions for their second album, King of Rock, but was ultimately left off the original release (though the demo version later appeared on the album's 2005 Deluxe Edition re-release). Being one of the Beasties' favorite songs from the sessions, they got Run-D.M.C.'s permission to record a cover version. Yauch states that only two lines were changed for the Beastie Boys' version: "D sees real well 'cause he has four eyes" was replaced with "White Castle fries only come in one size", and a line stating Run-D.M.C.'s name was changed to "We're the Beastie Boys, not Cheech and Chong". The notes for The Sounds of Science expand the writing credits to "Beastie Boys/J. Simmons/D. McDaniels/R. Rubin/D. Hayden". -from wikipedia- |

| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well, about the meaning of the song... "Bandwagon's full, please catch another" If you want to dig deep into it, a 'bandwagon effect' is when people do something because people are doing the same -- for example, eating strawberry ice cream because everyone else is. FOB could be saying that a lot of the fans are due to friends listening and obsessing over the music, and he's sort of saying, "I just want people to listen if they LIKE us." -- like, hop on a bandwagon for another band. He's trying not to be a fad. |

| Beastie Boys – No Sleep 'til Brooklyn Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Omigod, I just noticed the 'why d'you always bust my rhymes' part after the second verse. xDD Thanks Omnicide. How can you not love Mike D.? |
| Beastie Boys – No Sleep 'til Brooklyn Lyrics | 18 years ago |
'Classy hos' is the best part of the song. And this song is one of the best. |
| Beastie Boys – She's Crafty Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| =o HOW HAS NOBODY COMMENTED ON THIS SONG? Third track on Liscensed to Ill, and one of the best at that. It's so...funny! MCA seems so naiive. xD | |
| Ben Folds Five – Brick Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"People ask me what this song's about... I was asked about it a lot, and I didn't really wanna make a big hairy deal out of it, because I just wanted the song to speak for itself. But the song is about when I was in high school, me and my girlfriend had to get an abortion, and it was a very sad thing. And, I didn't really want to write this song from any kind of political standpoint, or make a statement. I just wanted to reflect what it feels like. So, anyone who's gone through that before, then you'll know what the song's about." --Ben Folds Ben didn't want it to get political, and I think that while everyone is entitled to an opinion, it shouldn't be posted here. Ben was telling a story in this, not singing a political song. |
| Beastie Boys – Paul Revere Lyrics | 18 years ago |
um, actually, 'a beer that's cold' is the end of the song. i have the licsensed to ill CD, and that's where it ends. SO. anyways, this is one of the best songs by the beastie boys. might even be my favorite. i love the lyrics; they're so...descriptive, really. you can picture it all in your head, especially the bar scene, which is described perfectly. it really sounds like a scene from an old western bar (with a few tweaks, of course) |
| Ben Folds – Bitches Ain't Shit (Dr. Dre cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Best cover I've ever heard. And it's catchy. =3 |
| Gomez – See The World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
HOW has one person commented on this? One of my favorite songs, ever! This is so ... sorta feel-good, if you think about it. Btw, this was featured on House, M.D a few weeks ago. Gomez kinda sounds like Johnny Cash, I think. |
| Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Freddy Mercury stated that he didn't like people asking him all the time what the song meant, and people should just enjoy it. Anyways, I just love that guitar riffs in here. The best few systems ever written were the ones after the mock opera. |
| Jimmy Wayne – I Love You This Much Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't even like country musc that much, but this song makes me cry. It's obvious what it's about. I don't think it needs to be broken down. It's not Bohemian Rhapsody, really. It's a beautiful song. (And Jimmy Wayne is cute.) |
| Rihanna – Unfaithful Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song. It shows a different side of things, and it really happens. She's not a bitch, she's just speaking what every other woman would be afraid to say. IT happens every day. |
| Ben Folds – The Luckiest Lyrics | 19 years ago |
My third favorite song. I want it to be my wedding song, it's so moving. I love it. It's sorta obvious what it's about, though, is it not? |
| Ben Folds – Rockin' The Suburbs (Over the Hedge version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
If it's all ages, then you still have to regard the younger ages. I'm saying this with respect, I'm tired. xP Anyways, if he had put the 'fuck' version in the movie, it would have been completely contradictory to the song 'Bastard' which is about kids growing up too fast. |
| Beastie Boys – Slow Ride Lyrics | 19 years ago |
First of all, even if the Beatles aren't exactly the closest to Van Halen, they still rock. Tim McGraw rocks. And he's a country singer. Anywayyys, didn't the Beastie Boys release License to Ill as a joke? Even if they didn't, it's not 1986 and look how respected the Beastie Boys are now. Also, does anyone else notice how the music between the verses sound like the songs in the Sims (2)? xD |
| Eminem – Hailie's Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Say what you want about Eminem, you can't deny he's a great father. Two songs dedicated to his little girl. It shows you a lot. Most rappers wouldn't do that, but Eminem is different. | |
| Eiffel 65 – Blue (Da Ba Dee) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm blue, I believe I will die. It's possible. |
| Augustana – Boston Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This reminds me a lot of a person with anorexia/bulimia. For example: Eyes are red and tears are shed Some world you must have crossed -- Crying, because of her disorder... -- They’re not the only ones Who cry when they see you -- Because she's so skinny. -- You said, You don’t know me You don’t even care -- She's saying someone can't care if they don't know her. -- She said, you don’t know me You don’t wear my chains -- They don't really understand the pressure. Anyways, I think she's going to Boston because she's sick of people taking pity on her because of her eating disorder. |
| The Switchblade Kittens – Ode To Harry Potter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Awesome song. So catchy. Semi-lame? Not in my book. | |
| Matchbox Twenty – Bent Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's about my glasses. They're always bending. Sorry, that's what I thought the first time I heard it. Anyway, great song. Phenomonal. Spectacular. I can only think of three syllable words to describe it. :) |
| Bowling for Soup – Punk Rock 101 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Umm, I must sound sooo stupid, but is there a certain reference to Bon Jovi here? First, BFS sings, "She thought Bon Jov broke up". Then, "Tommy and Gina they're llvin' on a prayer". Or is this some 80's reference? Or is it just nothing? And, um, what does the guy mean after the Tommy and Gina line when he says, "Did you just say that"? :) Its 12:00 AM. I'm tired. Sorry. =P |
| Beastie Boys – Girls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm a girl, and I love this song. It's funny, I think. I mean, I'd never do a guy's dishes or clean his room just because he tells me or something, but it's a catchy tune. If you look at the lighter side of everything, like me, you'll think it's funny. Susan B. Anthony might be turning in her grave, but that may very well be with laughter. Forget being politically correct and have fun. |
| Yung Joc – It's Going Down Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't usually like rap...I mean, in my school, it's "the main genre of music", and I like some songs, and I'm not biased against any rap...I just prefer soft rock and all. So, I was at my school dance, and they're playing some rap, some rock, blah blah blah, and this song comes on and my friend starts doing some freaky dance where she's bent over backwards and moving her arms around in the air. And then I listen, and I start doing it too. What significance is that? Well, if it was some other song I would've shrugged it off, but I like this song. A lot. This is coming from someone whose playlist consists of John Mayer, Ben Folds, and the Goo Goo Dolls. This song is great to dance to and fun, really. |
| Ben Folds Five – Magic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't think it's about death or suicide, for me anyways. For me it's about I person who is going through a change, or tells someone something big and this is going to change their life majorly, and in a bad way. And with the stars dancing -- I think the person got an escape from going outside, near the stars, or something like that. | |
| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think this song is about someone who tells a girlfriend/boyfriend a secret about them, and the world wouldn't understand that secret. Really, it sorta relates to my crappy Lily/Remus Harry Potter fanfics...Remus is a werewolf, and he goes out with Lily and they kiss & all. Then, he has to tell her he's a werewolf. He's scared he'll get shunned by her like he would the rest of the world. But that's just my fanfics. It can relate to a lot of things, but I like my meaning -- of course, it's mine, so... Anyways, it's my second favorite song. It's tied with Where Are You Going by DMB. |
