Rhymin' and Stealin' Lyrics
Because mutiny on the bounty's what we're all about
I'm gonna board your ship and turn it on out
No soft sucker with a parrot on his shoulder
'Cause I'm bad gettin' bolder - cold getting colder
Terrorizing suckers on the seven seas
And if you've got beef - you'll get capped in the knees
We got sixteen men on a dead man's chest
And I shot those suckers and I'll shoot the rest
Chorus-
Most illingest b-boy - I got that feeling
Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'
Snatching gold chains - vicking pieces of eight
I got your money and your honey and the fly name plate
We got wenches on the benches - and bitties with titties
Housing all girlies from city to city
One for all and all for one
Taking out M.C.'s with a big shotgun
All for one and one for all
Because the Beastie Boys have gone A.W.O.L.
Friggin' in the riggin' and cuttin' your throat
Big biting suckers getting thrown in the moat
We got maidens and wenches - man they're on the ace
Captain Bly is gonna die when we break his face
Chorus
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Torching and crankin' and rhymin' and stealin'
Robbin' and raping - busting two in the ceiling
I'm wheeling' - I'm dealin' - I'm drinking, not thinking
Never cower, never shower - and I'm always stinking
Yo ho ho and a pint of Brass Monkey
And when my girlie shakes her hips - she sure gets funky
Skirt chasing, free basing - killing every village
We drink and rob and rhyme and pillage
Chorus
I've been drinking my rum - a Def son of a gun
I fought the law and I cold won
Black Beard's weak - Moby Dick's on the tick
'Cause I pull out my jammy and squeeze off six
My pistol is loaded - I shot Betty Crocker
Deliver Colonel Sanders down to Davey Jones' locker
Rhymin' and stealin' in a drunken state
And I'll be rockin' my rhymes all the way to Hell's gate
Chorus
I'm gonna board your ship and turn it on out

listen to led zeppelin - when the levee breaks and then listen to rhymin' and stealin' again and notice how the beastie boys litterally copied and pasted the drums from zep. the title of the song litterally describes what the beastie boys do: rhyme and steal. perhaps that was the real message to the song, but i found it ironic. well not really, considering half of their songs are taken from samples of other groups anyways.
Paul's Boutique used hundreds of samples. Yes, it is only fitting that this is the first song on their first album.

They do that to show their roots aren't just rap, I believe.
And this song is about being pirates, obviously, with the whole Blackbeard talk, parrots, pillaging, etc.
Well considering the drum track in that Led Zepplin song is REALLY basic, I'm sure you can find tons of songs that have that same beat whether the artists knew it or not. Led Zepplin was not exactly a pioneer for producing unique drum tracks. Thats like saying people steal when millions of songs have the same chord progressions. It probably speaks to the Beastie Boys' versatility more than anything.
@Smartrip Umm...no. Zeppelin is one of the most heavily sampled artists of all time BECAUSE they were a pioneer for their production of music, especially drum tracks. It was partly the writing, and a lot about the sound produced. But it isn't like you are a true authoritarian on Led Zeppelin - I mean you can't even spell their name correctly.

IT'S A SAMPLE. if the boys wanted to make a point about it, the title would have been rhymin & samplin =o yeah great song. anyhow.
it's called smapling and it's a part of hip hop that enhances the greatness of a lot of productions. rollseyes
WTF mates? Who care where the beat came from, you ever listen to Paul Botique? More samples than you can shake a stick at.
The lyrics are a reflection a being a pirate. According to the B-Boys themselves at the concert last week in Detroit.
The drums are from Led Zeppelin's 'When the Levee Breaks' and the guitar is from Black Sabbath's 'Sweet Leaf'. I'd like to think there is more to the lyrical themes of piracy connected with the art of sampling, but it is the Beastie Boys and their lyrics are non-sensical at the best of times.
