| it could just be another reference to alcohol. randy uses the same comparison in 11th hour and it was about alcohol. the "deaf, blind, and fucking numb" part compared to the "SEDATE, NUMB, DEAF AND DUMB" you know, same kinda thing. randy's biggest problem seems to be alcohol, which he's already getting better from what i've heard. | |

this song totally kicks ass. but i read on lamb of gods website that the songs about alcoholism. and it fits too "this god that i worship, this demon i blame, conspire as one, its exactly the same" that is basically referring to how alcohol is "this god that i worship" before you start drinking it and when you first start, BUT in hindsight, its "this demon i blame" because it causes all your problems, but then its "this god that i worship" again because it seems to fix those problems. and its exactly the same because well...its alcohol it just has its ups and downs. oh, and "when i'm blinded i think i see everything" probably means that when hes drunk he feels he knows everything and is always right and does no wrong because thats what alcohol does to you. atleast thats what that line means to me. |

i agree with burn-in-my-light, without a doubt this song is about Phil Anselmo. "So God damn easy to write this Ya' think it'd spill on the page So drunk on yourself, self-righteous A laughing stock of your own fucking stage" that makes it pretty obvious that he is clearly writing about a musician considering he refers to song writing and performing on stage and so forth... "This is a motherfuckin' imitation The only one you could ever need This a motherfuckin' invitation You try me" he sounds exactly like phil anselmo on this track, its a very panter-ish sound as a whole. hence the line 'this is a motherfucking imitation'. i could continue but i dont see the need, this song is totally about phil. its like a song saying 'sorry pantera, but lamb of god are the new fucking kings whether you like it or not'.
