i think this song is sort of directed towards Koichi... I read in an interview that around the time these songs were written/recorded he was kind of going crazy and wasnt putting his whole self into the band. like, he'd come around when it was neccesary but wasnt there to kick it or write, he just kind of did the bare minimum. so I think its saying he just wasnt around much, hed "Drop in Drop out", due to pressures ("under the gun") of family or whatever and finally the guys were just like "get to the gone" like... get out man, if you can't be 100% then we dont want you at all. but thats just my oppinion. and this song is great, its hard to say, but its prolly my favorite on machine. ....mmmmaybe =P |

| Wellllll... I remember when I was doing alot of drugs, after a while (especially with no sleep) it starts to really fuck with your head. I'd try to stay high all the time, to keep me from sleeping, because I was terrified of the things I would see when I actually finally did crash, haha. Dreams incorporate thoughts from both the concious and subconcious, so imagine all the crazy shit that comes from your concious when you're awake and high on whatever + delirium + the subconcious terrors.... that for me = some really fucked up Night Terrors, heh. | |

Samuraiguy420... I agree with you, and here here on the 420 buddy! I beleive it is about Demri, and her death, and him trying to live on strong with out her. After she was died of an overdose, his addiction totally took over. He couldn't find anything else to live for, or a way to deal with not having her. They were very close. It is just so tragic. RIP Layne... & Demri. you got your woman back =) |

Well.... Whether or not you are asleep OR awake, when you are on meth you grind your teeth no matter what. Usually more so when you are asleep, because you cannot conciously make an effort to stop; generally when you wake up from sleep after a week long meth binge, your jaws ache like never before from grinding. ...so I don't really think that line is relevant to meth use. i think he's talking about a relationship that is just not working out for whatever reason, but they keep trying over and over to make it work because they are so deeply bonded. and maybe he feels as if he's drowning in the failure of the relationship because he doesn't understand WHY it isnt working, or what the problem is, and he is frusterated by this because he doesn't know how to fix it.
