| The Cure – The Perfect Boy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think he says "Kismet Hardy thing" Lord Nelson was rumoured to have said it before he died. b.t.w. Kismet means fate. |
| The Cure – The Only One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
laurelinwyntre, you lyrics are way off. I can't tell all the words, but he definately sing "when you blow me outside, and then suck me like this" You can tell because he uses "suck" and "blow" in the previous verse alternately. It plays into the structure of the song. And Robert's a pervert ;) |

| Queen – White Queen (as It Began) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It isn't at all surprising that it reminds you of Shakespeare . The final line "it ends as it began" was taken fro Romeo and Juliet. | |

| Funeral for a Friend – Escape Artists Never Die Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The title is meant to be ironic. I mean the only escape artist I can name is Houdini, and of course he died performing a trick. So that's relevant I think. |
| The Cure – There Is No If... Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I played Bloodflowers once when my lover was staying over. She's not a big Cure fan, but she cried so hard when this song came on. That's what it means to me, knowing that a relationship will end someday, even at your peak of happiness, knowing that one day you'll be parted. Depressing huh? |
| The Ataris – Cardiff-By-The-Sea Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I was in Cardiff a couple days ago. Not sure why any of you would wanna know that. For anyone that doesn't know where Cardiff is, its an old shipping city in South Wales, its our capital city. If you don't know where Wales is, its next door to England. I know what you Americans are like. |
| Joy Division – Komakino Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The posted lyrics are so wrong. "Condition that's never been met" "...that's held like a wake deep inside" "...the reaction will start" "...in the grip of each tear"" "Impulse that blinds every move"(not Recalls the life that we knew") "The questions are right" and most importantly, it isn't "into my way of things" its: "Into my way of paying" |

um... this song is so sad. Jiim I think has the right meaning, but still it is so sad:-( |
| Blue October – Fairy Tale Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Wow, I just found this song, its cool! Its more rocky than most of their stuff but I like that :) Your right the lyrics do kick-ass!!! |
| Placebo – English Summer Rain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think that this song signaled the end for Placebo. When i first listened to Sleepng with Ghosts I felt sick. Where are the sex and drug referances in the album? And of course now Bri has gone straight and clean. Grrrrr why? They used to be cool, and now they're just another Brit Pop style band. |
| Cradle of Filth – Thank God For The Suffering Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Why does everyone insist that Damnation... is about Paradise Lost. I agree that it is certainly about the Bible through Lucifers eyes, but not specifically from Milton. The second half of the album is set too late to be connected to the poem. Doberman Pharoah is obviously about the Exodus, duh there is no exodus in Paradise Lost, and The Smoke of Her Burning is clearly apocolyptic, that isn't in Paradise Lost. Christ, people should research thing before making general statements. But in this song I agree with slave2thewage. Very powerful. |
| Cradle of Filth – Devil Woman (Cliff Richard cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Devilslittle.... have you ever actually heard a Cliff Richard song. They are riddled with referances to the devil. He is a devaut christian who loves rock & roll. Many of his songs are about Lucifer, Why Should The Devil Have all The Good Music, and his version of The Lords Prayer ( The Millenium Prayer ) Of course this song is about a Satanist. It may be about a Gypsey fortune teller, but he sees those people as satanic. And as you said, you've never heard the original. |
| The Cure – Taking Off Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Why are they're only 2 comments? This is the best of the singles from The Cure album. I know its an easy song to grasp but it does deserve some respect. Hey You!!! has more comments than this, what's going on? | |
| The Cure – Hey You! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think he's pretending to be the type of person every guy wishes they could be. Confident, bold and very forward. It is a really fun and catchy song. Anyone have any idea why he says she looks like christmas? It's cute, but I don't get it? |
| The Cure – One More Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree that this song is about innocence. Maybe its about wanting to restart a relationship, pretend that the bad things that have befallen the two haven't happened yet "just one more time" Going back to the times before they'd had sex and just wishing that they could be young and innocent again. I don't think that's what he meant by the song, but that's how it makes me feel. It is a very beautiful song |
| Alkaline Trio – The Poison Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love the lyrics and the music to this song, but I must say that Dan's vocals really don't compare with Matt's. That's just my opinion though, I know a lot of people prefer Dan, but Matt sounds punkier and rock, Dan voice can sound annoying sometimes. | |
| Alkaline Trio – We've Had Enough Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think more bands should do anti-mainstream songs (but I think Green Day should die) There is something really powerful about this song, maybe because:- Unlike Green Day this band actually care Unlike Green Day this band have allways been critical of society This song came out way before American Idiot Green Day just copied Matt with the whole eye-liner thing Billie Joe is a dick! Alkaline Trio are great! Their new stuff is a little emo though:( |
| Alkaline Trio – Stupid Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Why do so many people dislike this song? What were you expecting from Alkaline Trio? Nice happy love songs? Geez! I love this song, you guys are way too sappy. It's a song! A great song. Just because it isn't happy or about death, doesn't mean it's bad. It's not as though Alkaline Trio have never done songs about bad relationships, a few of the song on From Here... are about regret, it doesn't make them bad songs. There too bloody emo now though! |
| The Cure – Why Can't I Be You? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This maybe a very shallow interpretation, but maybe its about cross-dressing? "You're so gorgeous..." Maybe he wants to be gorgeous like his lover is but she's unsure. "Why can't I be you?" |
| The Cure – Pornography Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Maybe it is about a violent realtionship. I can understand the suicide thing, but I'm pretty certain the "one more day..." bit isn't written in the 3rd person. "She found his last picture In the ashes of the fire" Maybe a woman approaches her violent lover with Pornographic material that belongs to him, and he loses control and starts beating and even raping the woman. "Pushing my life through your open eyes" Then afterwards the man regrets it, but knows that it will happen again. "I must fight this sickness Find a cure I must fight this sickness" Then maybe he kills her. That's just my theory. Very bleak whatever it's about. |
| The Cure – A Strange Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think its wierd that this is the only song on the album to have a glimmer of hope in it, and that's through dying. Whether its about the end of the world or suicide, I don't know and it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that he's dead. The music seems to mellow for this song. The rest of the album is full of heavy drums and meloncholic guitars, but this song's music, I think, is quite sweet. Maybe he's saying that he's been living to die, and now he can escape from his troubles. |
| Cradle of Filth – The Foetus Of A New Day Kicking Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I guess it could be about pretty much anything. I think that there is an awful lot of religious referances in the song (more than usual) and it reminded me of Damnation and a Day. It could be about general rebelion or 9/11, or maybe something totally different, I think that's why I love the band. They're so ambigous and bizarre. |
| Cradle of Filth – Lovesick For Mina Lyrics | 19 years ago |
River Wolf is completely right. Dani is personifying himself as the mournful Dracula from the Coppola version. The only referance I could find with the names Verona, Merishka and Aleera is from the film Van Helsing (which I haven't seen, and don't care to) which supports the Dracula theory. Also the haemophiliac undertones to the song makes it clear that it's about vampyrism. A great song, so deep and powerful. |
| The Cure – Where the Birds Always Sing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song reminds me so much of Iain Banks' The Crow road, I suggest you read it, then you'll see what I mean. The song (and the book) is about the vanity of life, all religion is a form of cowardice as people bury themselves in the arrogance that we are the most important creatures, which of course we aren't. We try to justify all the bad things by insisting there is a different between good and evil, when really all there is is fundamental beliefs and ignorance. "The world is neither fair nor unfair" These are only human concepts, words to try and understand ourselves. People die, that's all their is to it. Probably anyway. Very heavy stuff, but I believe it. |
| Cradle of Filth – The Foetus Of A New Day Kicking Lyrics | 19 years ago |
In this song Dani is personifying himself as Jesus in Jerusalem after the last supper. I think Dani is too intelligent for the song to simply be about Judas, that's too obvious, so I think it's more about Peter denying that he's a desciple. Maybe it's just me that thinks this though. |
| Faye Wong – Eyes On Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Great song...But the first line is "whenever sang my songs..." | |
| Sweetbox – 1000 Words Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I prefer the Japanese version of this song though | |
| Sweetbox – 1000 Words Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| How come there are so few comments on this song? You would've thought the exposure on X-2 would've made them more fans. | |
| The Ataris – Better Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Ijust want the chance to keep those promises I made" I wonder if it's about wedding vows? Or whether they're promises he made to himself? That nothing could ever change him, but he was forced to change by society? Kris's lyrics are so deep. |
| The Ataris – Losing Streak Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's weird how few comments there are for this song. It's probably the most inspiring song on Blue Skies... and it's a very insightful and contemplating album. The Ataris ROCK! |
| Meat Loaf – Everything Louder Than Everything Else Lyrics | 19 years ago |
By far my fav Meat song. It's so beautifully Rock and Roll. Fight conformity, and societies lies, "a wasted youth..." |
| HIM – The Cage Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is probably the best song on their horrible new album. Anyone else think their new album is really emo? | |
| The Cure – Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I thinnk it's so weird how these british 70' bands seem to have created a little group between themselves (obviously curtis isn't among them). I mean The Cure, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, and Siouxie and the Banshees. Isn't it weird? It's cool as hades though! | |
| Marilyn Manson – Snake Eyes And Sissies Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| There are deefinately some referances to Charles Manson in this song, "tear the son out of your bitch" may be a referance to Susan Atkins wanting to take Sharon Tate's baby out of her postomously. "and sprinkle your remains with lime," Charles once asked one of his 'family' the best way to decompose a body and he was told to use lime. | |
| Charles Manson – Never say never to always Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is a really good song. "Inside yorself for your father" describes how he'd get inside the mind of some of the women in his 'family'. He'd asked them if they ever thought of sleeping with their father, and if they had, he'd ask them to think of their father while sleeping with him. Wierdly it actaully worked. |
| Charles Manson – Mechanical Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It was so cool for for Manson (Marilyn) to use some of these lyrics in My Monkey. | |
| Charles Manson – Cease to exist Lyrics | 19 years ago |
lasertag and erebusknight are completely right. Charles believed he had good reason, just because we don't agree with him doesn't mean we can critisize him! I may not condone mass slaughter, but he obviously did, and we can't disagree with some of his philosophy! |
| The Cure – Homesick Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree with all of you, this song is so unappreciated! To me it's about a relationship fading out, turning from"sweet...wild" into arguments and abuse. He pleads to her to give him a reason to stick around "inspire in me the desire in me..." This song definately deserves more recognition! |
| Finch – Stay With Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
A great song. Is it true that Finch have brpken up????sob sob!! |
| Cradle of Filth – Devil Woman (Cliff Richard cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is so surreal! Who would've thought that Cradle would cover a song by Cliff Richard! I love the way they loop his voice into the chorus. Really wierd! Anyway, this cover is soooo amazing. My parents are Cliff Richard fans, and so I couldn't resist blasting this at them!!! They were not amused!!! This song is pretty self explanitory, so there is no need for an interperatation!!! Beauty, Satanism, Brilliant! |
| Alkaline Trio – Over At The Frankenstein Place Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Any-way this on The Rocky Punk Rock Show cd, you guy's should totally check it out!! | |
| Alkaline Trio – Over At The Frankenstein Place Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Alkaline trio ROCK! The Rock Horror ROCKS! Need any-one really ask why they covered it??? | |
| Cradle of Filth – Serpent Tongue Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The second pert of this song is about Lucifer tempting Eve in Eden. But the first part is about Lilith, Adam,s first wife in the garden. She ran away from Eden after refusing to give into Adam's lust. Throughout early Judaeism she was blamed for children dying at night during thier first few weeks. In the female revolutions of the 70's and 80's, she was used as a symbol for female independance and strength. |
| Cradle of Filth – She Mourns A Lengthening Shadow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
No comment's? I'm in love with this poem. I wrote it in a Christmas card to my girlfriend. I't about being buried with a lover, so they can escape the prudery ofthe poem's era. Percy Shelley is one of the greatest gothic poets in history, along with Dante, Byron etc. For shame all you "goths" who haven't recognised this poem's brilliance! |
| Cradle of Filth – Thank God For The Suffering Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is meant as a metaphor for something else. As we know Damnation... is an album about Lucifer. The woman in this song is probably a metaphor for power and sin. Like in Better to Reign in Hell, " Her name was sin..." | |
| The Cure – A Strange Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I can't believe there are so few comment's for this song. It's one of my favourite's and it is sooooo Cure. It has everything, dark lyrics, beautiful instruments and really sexy vocals. | |
| The Cure – Pictures of You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
An amazing song about memories, and how they fade, "There was nothing in the world That I ever wanted more Than to never feel the breaking apart All my pictures of you" Probably one of the deepest songs ever. Can any-one disagree with that? |
| The Cure – Siamese Twins Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is definately about losing your viginity to a prostitute, well in a literal sense any-way. Metaphorically, I'm not sure. Maybe that everything that seems great at first is actually pretty lame or even terrifying!! | |
