Five for Fighting – If God Made You Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with lionelfishes. It must be about the death of a loved one. Although its got some sort of haunting melody to it, cause hearing it for the first time, you'd think it's a happy song.

Robbie Williams – Angels Lyrics 19 years ago
For all of you, if you guys haven't noticed, we're in songmeanings.net, not listentotheassholesspeak.net. If you're not here to help us understand the song, then I suggest you quit whining and leave. Take your shit with you. God! Get a life. (By the way, if you reply to this, then you guys really must be just loser geeks who have nothing better to do)

Anyway, I think this song is really about angels. Just read the lyrics, and you'll find it's pretty much about the guy being thankful for the angel that watched over him. He refers to her merely as 'she'.

And also, one of you guys said that Robbie Williams didn't really write this song? That you actually did, and you sold it to him? Well it seems like you're not much upset by it. Or maybe you're lying, bastard.

But seriously, if you did write it then you've got some talent. You should consider doing more.

Five for Fighting – The Taste Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is quite hard to decipher. I think it is basically about this guy who is in a relationship, and he feels that his girl is using him. Yet, he still stays. Then the lines come 'There I fell into a coffin / Brought the water in my eyes'. They might mean that she finally crossed the line or something. But then, he sings 'I still got the taste for you'. Maybe that means he's just not strong enough to leave her.

Five for Fighting – 100 Years Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about the journey to life, and how the singer tries to tell this kid he calls '15'.

For those of you who owns the album (The Battle for Everything by Five for Fighting), if you look at the album leaflet, at the part where the '100 Years' lyrics are printed, you will see a picture at the side. It's actually a group of pictures, each representing a stage of life. If you notice, the pictures would repeat towards the end. And more specifically, it starts and ends with a picture of a girl. So I guess that's why the song started and ended with the line 'counting the ways to where you are'. When you're young, you dream of a girl (or guy) you crush on. When you're old, you dream of your spouse, who could have died already.

By the way, awesome song man!

Coldplay – Speed of Sound Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is about man's self-discovery, or rather, man's journey to understanding life.

The first verse sounds like the guy is undecided about his life. Although he knows what must be done, for some reason, he hasn't done it. And he wonders. Hence the usage of the phrase 'how long...'

The second verse is a lot like the first. His life is confusion. The line 'planets are moving at the speed of light' refers to the feeling that time is running out, or moving too fast (I think).

The chorus is about the guy feeling somewhat angry(?) or confused ('all that noise / and all that sound') like he has had enough or something. And the next lines, 'and birds go flying at the speed of sound / to show you how it all began / birds go flying from the underground / if you could see it then you'd understand'. I think it talks about the guy's realization of the simplicity of things. And 'if you could see it then you'd understand' means that he can't quite explain it to you. Like 'you have to see it to believe it' sort of thing.

The next verse sounds a lot like confusion, utter confusion.

The last verse could mean that he finally gets it. Then it goes back to the part pf the chorus about the simplicity of all things, and the 'seeing is believing' part.
