This is one of the most hilarious raps I've had the delight of hearing. Em doesn't make raps like this anymore. |

Bursts = Ecstasy?
"Bursts are where I find a fix
Bursts are made to colour me rich
Bursts of blocks, stickle bricks
Bursts of colour 'til I'm sick" |

I heard "bible" too. It might just be the vocoder making it difficult to understand him, but it sure does sound like Bible. And it mostly makes sense with the lyrics as "bible", too. |

About the robot voice, it's nothing mystical like Stephen Hawking or a vocoded Thom Yorke. It's the default Mac OS voice synthesizer, it's called Fred I believe. I thought this was common knowledge? The voice is one of the standards.
Fire up a Macintosh and type it in, you'll see. |

"she don't use jelly, she uses vaseline"
KY Jelly? vaseline? Lubricants!
Also the part about blows his nose, tissues, and magazines... it's pretty obvious. |

"I must have been tripping..."
What a DEGENERATE HIPPIE!
Not really. But this song is excellent nonetheless, although I have to amit I giggled when I first heard the "I must have been tripping"... it's like afro-humor. |

It's hard to tell anything he says, everything is so heavily vocoded. Is this not the most nerdiest song you've ever heard? I mean, damn. |

To me, this song is about the atmoic bomb. "Genie let out of the bottle", "Murderers, You're Murders." Rining alarm bells.
"When the walls bend" could be a refrence to how buildings implode in a nuclear attack.
It's pretty vague though, it could be about any destructive force unleashed upon the world. I guess that's why everyone's linking it to politics, it's the cool thing to do. |

I'm not sure what to make of it. If you look at it one way, it could be about how the natural forces of attraction pull people together. But it could also mean that it's all just flesh, DNA, and atoms and in the end it doesn't mean anyhing. |

Thom Yorke is most definately not religious, I'd call him anti-Chrisitan even, so this song is definately a negative (or at least neutral) view of Catholicism, as they're the only Christian denomintation that worships Mary. |

This song is similar to The Beatles' A Day in the Life, in the way it's constructed. A generally quiet song interspersed with louder parts, and a buold-up at the end. Both are great songs. |

And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up this old fool
Is this a refrence to Bowie's left eye? I heard someone punched it and that's why it's weird. |

I never thought of the similarity to Fitter Happier before, but I see it. This one's a little easier to listen to, at least it has a beat... |

For anyone who loves this song, pick up the Beatles Anthology 2. It has three alternate version of this song (Take 1, Take 7, and an acoustic demo). The demo is really nice, it's just John Lennon and his guitar. It was recorded just after he composed it on a casette recorder in his home. It's like you're in there in the house. It's creepy in a good way. |

It kinda makes sense. It could either be about father/son or God/Satan. The father analogy is used over and over in the Bible, so that makes it more difficult.
Does this remind anyone else of Led Zeppelin IV, and The Battle of Evermore in particular? Or am I slow. |

The Beatles did a cover of You've Really Got a Hold on Me. there is use of flanging and stringed instrument fills and a sitar at the end. It's all very reminscent of The Beatles. And the obvious Fab Four refrence. |

The lines:
"A couple more for breakfast
A little more for tea
just to take the edge off"
I think they're talking about how he takes some more alchocol/drugs/whatever, and he's telling himself it's just to take the edge off, but it's really because he's addicted, or needs a crutch, and doesn't want to resolve the issues that messed him up in the first place. He ends up dying from drinking too much, and poeple walking by just stop and look, but don't really care about the man. The police tell them to "move along, there's nothing left to see".
This is one of Radiohead's more straightforward songs. Try to find meaning in, say, Idioteque. There's a challenge. |
