Bradley Smith Lyrics
and i know that he's there
and i know he's there [x2]
you're wide awake brad
wide awake brad
and i know that he's there
and i know he's there [x2]
oh yeah
wake up bradley, wake up
we could think about a little much gusto
wake up bradley, wake up
because its all i got now
wake up bradley, wake up
'cause its all i got
and i know that he's there
and i know he's there [x2]
you're wide awake brad
wide awake brad
and i know that he's there
and i know he's there [x2]
wake up bradley, wake up
we could think about a little much gusto
wake up bradley, wake up
its all i got now
wake up bradley, wake up
its all i got
wake up wake up bradley [x5]
and i know he's there [x2]
you're wide awake brad

wake up bradley, wake up
because its all i got now

theres a guy named bradley smith who started something called CODOH. he doesnt believe the holocaust happened the way that its written in history books i guess. so maybe its telling him to wake up and see the truth about the holocaust.
This song is about a kid from texas who's name was Bradley and his dad would always wake him up early in the morning. Not your usual atd-i style songn and the lyrics are extremly straight forward, but true non the less.
it sounds like if that story is true, its bradley's father trying to wake him up, but he wont wake up becuase he is dead, so the father is breaking down reapeating wake up wake up its all i got now, because possibly he lost his wife. this is all just speculation of course, but its possible.
soulbot makes sense. i can see this song meaning about a father trying to wake his dead son. to add on to what soulbot said, i think the majority of the song is the father yelling in a panic for bradley to wake up. then towards the end he gets calmer while saying it, as if he is sobbing.
no really, they say exactly what I said before they played it at the 1995 UTEP union show.
It's probably the most straight dforward atdi.
i find it funny that i have a professor named "Bradley Smith" now, and that drew my attention to this song. i dont remember ever hearing it before or making the comment i made a year ago...
^LoL^
If you find this song on YOUTUBE, there is a clip of ATDI playing (pre-members of the "classic" lineup) playing in an auditorium at the University of Texas at El Paso. Cedric and Jim mention "we have a friend named Brad.. and every morning his dad wakes him up by saying 'Bradley.... Bradley... it's time to wake up, Bradley. Wake up wake up Bradley." This song is super old (written before they were even actively recording/touring I believe), and showcases Cedric/Jim's young sense of humor at the time. Cedric was in a number of humorous punk bands in the El Paso region before ATDI.
yuupp, fifi got it right from the get-go... and that guy or gal above cemented it. Good song... not everything has to be a metaphor for a metaphor. it's one of the firsT ATDI releases (officially) too, no? I dont remember + it's early... so spare me the guilt if I'm wrong. I think it's on one of the early EPs... it's old's all I know, 'cuz for yrs before I became a better pirate, I didnt even know about the EP. =[
