| Nirvana – About a Girl Lyrics

Everyone keeps on saying 'This song is about his ex Tracy'. No one even noticed that the main guitar riff is almost completely copied from The Cure's M (from their album Seventeen Seconds). |

You really need an iron head to get through this song without severe neck snapping.
This is why headbanging was invented!

This song has one fat bad-ass riff!
Helmet is the most underrated 90's metal band. |

This track rocks! Nice ending too.
The lyrics are controversial and well-chosen. |

One of their most underrated singles and surely one of the most underrated tracks on the album of the same name, just because Crazy Little Thing and Another One Bites The Dust overshadowed practically everything on the whole album, which is a shame. |

It IS recorded by Queen as a band, but it's released under a pseudonymn, just as a joke while they recorded the debut album. |

I think this song is about a crazed sect leader. The end seems pretty chilling with the previous song (Flood) about someone who sees no other possibility than to die. Only a psychotic sect leader would manipulate people to such a degree. |

This song obviously is about someone who knows he's going to die in whatever form. What makes it more obvious is that a minute of silence follows, then next is a song about religion. The killer at the end of Disgustipated might be a sect leader (Disgustipated is obviously about 'false' religion) and this might be one of his victims, if you let your darkest imaginations wander a bit. |

Damn, talk about meaningless lyrics...
This crap band only spews out meaningless crap about love, same fucking subject every time without any emotion or feeling. It's just weightless crap over and over, It is so genuineless I can't believe you people buy all this crap.
Real artists like Pink Floyd write about subjects from the heart, like matters in the world, personal subjects or politics and war. This is just sorry-ass commercial shit written without any emotion behind it. |

Damn people, are you all really so thick-headed?
It was a bad take on Lithium and they vented their frustrations with this, don't you understand?
And the lyrics are just made-up nonsence, no hippie-dippy philosophies whatsoever, cut the crap please! |

Plant's voice seems to be sped up, and that goes for some other songs as well on the Houses Of The Holy album.
It's the album where his voice starts to sound battered. The price to pay after 5 years of screaming, I guess, but it never lost it's greatness. |

Has anyone ever noticed the resemblance between the intro and the instrumental bridge on The Red Hot Chili Pepper's Righteous & The Wicked?
Funny ain't it? |

Just because the chorus of Your Time Is Gonna Come cross-edits with it doesn't mean this song has lyrics... (eyes rolling).
It's an awesome instrumental btw. |

I agree with 666's opinion.
And he also seems to get really emotional once the song progresses.
I think it's a big fuck you to all things he has against him and the repeating 'Keeping myself alive' is like he has to survive to get through it all. |

I read that this song was inspired by a suicide attempt:
"Why does any 17-year-old guy want to kill themselves? A chick of course! I thought she was the be and end all of everything and when you are that age, those emotions won't let you fucking consider reality. I was in a really, really, painful place. I put 31 slashes on my arm and I took a bottle of pills and a friend found me and took me to hospital. Luckily, the cuts weren't too deep, but I still have the scars. They pumped my stomach, which was a completely fucking horrific experience, one that I don't wish on anyone. They make you drink this stuff which tastes like maple syrup, which is why I can't eat pancakes for the rest of my life, that induces you to vomit uncontrollably. You then spew up everything you have eaten for the past week and then they give you this shit which tastes like liquid charcoal to calm your stomach down again." -Corey Taylor
I guess he searched the guilt by himself ('I wasn't very much fun to be with anyway') and the improv lyrics are about him trying to get rid of his bad karma with everyone around him to see ('Don't hide', 'I don't need you anymore') and that he rather dies instead of living with it.
I'm pretty sure the last line is 'My time'. |
