| John Mellencamp – Your Life Is Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think this song i directed toward the younger generation. I love this part: "'Cause I believe you could change your mind and change our lives" John writes beautiful songs, and this is no exception. |

| John Mayer – Daughters Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I've heard a few people saw that this song presents women as "fragile" but I really don't think it does. It's saying that fathers and other important guys in a girl's life need to respect and be good to her. It's saying to put your daughter on a pedastal, not because she is fragile, but because she is the greatest thing you'll ever know, because she is your flesh and blood. | |
| Green Day – St. Jimmy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Wow, Lil_barn_luver, that was terrible grammer and spelling. Is anuva a word? | |
| Matchbook Romance – If All Else Fails Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"So close your eyes and sleep to dream..." Beautifully poetic lyrics! Obviously about a girl he loved, and they may have had a problem or two, but he's telling her that he'll always love her. That's my interpretation, at least. |

| Rufus Wainwright – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I actually like this version better than Jeff Buckley's. I think I may have downloaded a live version of Buckley's, but I'm gonna try to DL one that isn't live, because everyone says his is better so I want to hear for myself. Anyway, I'm not a eligious person, in fact, I'm atheist, but this song is beautiful, no matter who sings it. "Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah" is a great line, it's the perfect way to describe how people feel after breaking up. Again, even though I don't quite understand the religious undertones, I still love the song. Cohen did a wonderfull job with the lyrics. 5 stars. |

| Edwin McCain – I Could Not Ask For More Lyrics | 21 years ago |

*sigh* cheesy love songs...gotta love em! His voice is amazing. This song seriously makes me want to cry, it's just beautiful. |

| Sonny & Cher – I Got You Babe Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
So sweet, I love this part: I got you to hold my hand, I got you to understand. I got you to walk with me, I got you to talk with me. I got you to kiss goodnight, I got you to hold me tight. I got you, I won't let go, I got you to love me so. |

| Allison Kraus – When You Say Nothing At All Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The person in thsi song is talking about how she loves her boyfriend/lover/spouse, and how, even if he doesn't say a word, she still knows he loves her. It's a great way of thinking of love...the idea that two people in love can exchange things without even talking is beautiful! | |
| All-4-One – I Swear Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is so cheesy, but I love it. It's a great dancing song, perfect for weddings and such. It hurts to try NOT to like this song lol. It's just so sweet and it makes you think "Damn...I want a guy like that!" | |
| Céline Dion – Because You Loved Me Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about two people who were in love. It didn't work out, but she is telling him how much he's helped her, and how he's changed her life. She's thanking him, in a way. | |
| Simple Plan – Shut Up Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I don't dislike Bush because it's "cool" or because certain bands do. I have my own reasons for not liking him, all of which are based on my personal beliefs and values (i.e., I'm for abortion, I'm for homosexual rights, I'm not a big fan of war). We all have our own opinions, so let's leave it at that. atthedrive-in, is your favorite hobby to go around dissing everything people say on this site, cuz I've seen you doing that quite a lot. Just let people believe what they want to about songs or bands. It's their life! But anyway, let's just drop it, this isn't a politics debate! |

| Simple Plan – Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is so beautiful...I love what LittleNemo is saying, I never thought of that. The very beginning tune reminds me of the theme of Pearl Harbor for some reason. It's just so emotionally powerful, and I love the piano, it makes me think of someone doing ballet to it. It's just an awesome, sad sad song! | |
| Simple Plan – Thank You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Pretty basic song, it's about a best friend doing something to betray another. Nuff said... | |
| Simple Plan – Jump Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| At first, I thought this song was about wanting to commit suicide, but then I listened to it more, and now I agree with xxspluvrxx. I think it's about being at a concert and wanting to just JUMP and not do anything else. It's about loving the exhiliration you get from just jumping and listening to the music, and about not caring about anyting else in the world. If you haven't been to a concert, be sure you go and JUMP! | |
| Simple Plan – One Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Here's my interpretation: It's about the teenage/young adult generation. "We are the ones, the ones forgotten, and this time the future is ours. It’s in our hands" This line is saying that as young adults, we are sometimes forgotten or pushed aside, by parents or society or whatnot, but that in the end, we are the future. "We’re the tear in your eyes, we’re the blood in your veins, we’re the beat of your heart." This line, as well as all the other lines that start out "We're the..." is talking about the teenagers' parents, especially with this verse: "We’re the pride of your lives We’re the light shining deep in your eyes We’re the choice that you made We’re the smile on your face when you sleep at night" "Nothing to lose, together we stand up tall, we are one." That line is saying that as the next generation, we need to work together. Yeah, so mostly I think this song is about parents and their teenagers and how the teenagers are the future. Any other interpretations? |

| Good Charlotte – Mountain Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Ok people, seriously, it's time to grow up and stop bashing other people's taste in music. I respect that you don't like Good Charlotte, so how about you respect that we like them? I think it's ok to post things like "This isn't one of their best songs." or "I think GC is too mainstream." or "I simply don't like this song, I don't liek the beat in it." Things like THAT are ok, but "GOOD CHARLOTTE = GAY" and "this song blows. stop listening to pussy shit." are just NOT acceptable... I don't bash your favorite bands, so how about you people offer us the same respect? | |
| Tegan and Sara – This Is Everything Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I like ohsoquiet's description! I never thought of it like that, and I agree with the high school love thing. And yeah, the "last honest love" thing, I think is about how..well you know how when a lot of people get their hearts broken and they decide "I'm never dating again"?? I think it's like that. And the "keep the light on before you hop into bed" i think mean "get one good last look at me" | |
| Tegan and Sara – City Girl Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this one is pretty easy to understand. This girl and guy had a rough relationship, and finally the guy got fed up and left, but she still loves him. Any other thoughts? This one actually isn't my fave but it's ok. |
|
| Tegan and Sara – All You Got Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this is about Girl 1, who's in love with this guy and she'll do anything for him ("Tell me how hard how fast baby tell me how high i must go"), but he's already got Girl 2. Girl 1 thinks that maybe Girl 2 is a little better of a person than she is ("she's upfront upshot upfront in every case") but she also believes that this guy would be better off with herself ("all you got/need/want is me"). That's my interpretation, but it may be way off. Does anyone else LOVE Tegan's ( i think it's tegan) voice in this one? |
|
| Tegan and Sara – Superstar Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"Soon my face will be on every magazine and my voice will be on every frequency! Take my heart, while you're at it why don't you sign me up to sell me out!" Absolute genius! I also love "I am my angel till death I do, I saw my first angel and it was you!" To me, this song is about the girls getting more popular and maybe realizing that being a "superstar" isn't so awesome because everyone tries to sell you out and stuff. That's my opinion, although I also like WhiteIron's explanation. |
|
| Tegan and Sara – My Number Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I love this part: "He grabs me by the hand Drags me to the shore And says maybe you don't love me but you'll grow to love me even more!" It's just so dynamic, and the way they sing it is priceless...Tegan and Sara should get way more recognition, especially in the US. |

| Good Charlotte – I Just Wanna Live Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is one of two of my favorite songs on this CD. I love the beat, and I also think it is funky and different, but it's good, because it's a break from all the dark stuff! And I think it only contradicts Lifestyles in one way: the part in Lifestyles where it says the stuff about always complaining. What they're saying in I Just Wanna Live is just that...they don't want to fall into this pit of rich, famous, plastic people. That's why they say "Lifestyles of the rich and famous, your first hit aren't you ashamed of the life we're living." They're becoming so material and they don't like it...they want to try and live a normal life. Just my interpretation... | |
| Good Charlotte – Mountain Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Personally, I think this song is a love song, especially because of the chorus (how it talks about giving everything up just to be with someone). But the only thing I don't understand is when it says "i wasn't on a mountain when it came to me". Exactly what does that mean? | |
