I think this is about Girl 1, who's in love with this guy and she'll do anything for him ("Tell me how hard how fast baby tell me how high i must go"), but he's already got Girl 2. Girl 1 thinks that maybe Girl 2 is a little better of a person than she is ("she's upfront upshot upfront in every case") but she also believes that this guy would be better off with herself ("all you got/need/want is me").

That's my interpretation, but it may be way off. Does anyone else LOVE Tegan's ( i think it's tegan) voice in this one?

They're lesbians, both of them. So, that makes the theory, different from my theory.l can't say WRONG because l'm not one of the Quinn Twins and well "The kind of girl that says, thank god for you" suggests girl 1 is interested in girl 2 sexually and there is no boy involved what so ever. lt's one of my favourite T&S songs.

I think it's about having a ahem thing with a friend and how it changes your whole relationship to her.

"because I start to forget but she will always remember" means even though you're trying to pretend it never happened doesn't mean it'll just go away.

The song is about two lesbians with a relationship I want.

In the case of dealing with your sexuality you have feelings of right and wrong as people challenge you. It feels right to you, but people will always say otherwise which is why she says:

“It's not really wrong It's not really right”

But she’s wide awake and she knows this is what she wants.

l'ma prolly sing this song to my girlie when l see her cause, l'm sweet like that. l fully realized how cracked out l was when l babbled on earlier, but yeah l agree whole heartedly that yes its about lesbians, yes they were friends and the friendship transformed into something else

I agree with jenni too, I think most girls(or all people really)would love a relationship like this, but it's so hard to find...besides the meaning, damn this song is just so damn sassy sounding during this part:

really, the vocals in general in this song are very sexy =p

baaasically my relationship in a nutshell. but a little different from how it seems like they meant it. my girlfriend lives 700 miles away right now (i'm in chicago, she's in new york). the first line i feel really explains that our cities aren't all the different.

"she's up front..." that's her. she's crazy energetic and into so much and really informed about stuff. the middle stuff i associate with jsut some random stuff about us. "tell me what you want..." is like expressing exactly what i feel for her. i'd do anything for her.

Girl 1 has let loose of her inhibitions; but in the morning, is ashamed of her newfound sexuality and wants to forget it. Girl 2 is, indeed, forward and knows what she wants. Girl 2 presses the relationship until Girl 1 realizes that it's all she ever needed or wanted.

I think there's a few different ways you could interpret this one. I love T&S.
