personalchaos, of course the Doors were average. None of the band were what one would consider virtuoso players. Their lyrics were occasionally brilliant, mostly listenable, but often horrid. A great band is greater than the sum of its parts. The Doors were simply The Jim Morrison show. Any backing band would have had the same effect. It was all about Jim's charisma. Have you ever heard the albums the Doors put out after Jim died? |

This song really shows a drawback that CDs have over Long Players. This song was the first track of side B of Abbey Road. The last track of side A was I Want You (She's So Heavy). That song was so dark and forboding, flipping over the album and playing this was like physically flipping over to a new day. You just don't get that by hitting 'next track' on the cd player. |

They had Storm Troopers in World War I, long before the Nazis. 'Storm Trooper' is just dramaticspeak for 'Heavy Assault Infantry'.

As for the song, its good stuff. Even if Caballe had long since passed her peak. Freddie, of course, kept his beautiful voice right to the end.
