i think its about wanting to be someone else just for the sake of gaining people's affection. and the want has driven him so mad that he has an attitude where if someone rejects him, he'll be completely angered. "a gun and a pack of sandwiches" - if the person he's with likes him, he'll eat a pack of sandwiches with them - but if they don't like him.. he'll hurt them. he won't pursue but rather wait until someone actually 'gets' him and comes after him. |

I agree with rudexgirl. but a way i look at it is, he's just telling himself he's in it for sex when really he can't get enough of her. he just tells himself that to hide the fact that she fucked him over. he waits for her all the time, thinking it'll be more than just sex. but he can't get her out of her mind and get on with his life. he's acting all macho about it. but i dont know. thats another alternate take on it. i love the ending. thats an interesting way to think about it Manatee. I think it's about this girl who every guy can easily get really attached to. yet the girl never stays with one guy and always turns them down. "we came to see her" a guy feels that the girl makes him feel complete. "she carried us all". and the way chino sings, he sings it from a perspective where he doesnt want to get too attached to her at all. he tries but eventually "for the first time, i wish she'd come". he's developed strong feelings for her and he knows how it's going to end and thats why he's frustrated. he has all of these thoughts about them being together. "i wish she'd come" - kinda meaning he wants her to come to him, and only him. but he knows that will never happen.. i love this song. it should of been in the album and the album should of have been called Lovers.. |

this song is great. i remember when i first listened to it, i was blown away. completely awesome and original track. as far as an interpretation, i think the song to me is wishing you were more of what this girl wants. in the first part of the song, chino sings about how he tries to get what he wants but he always fails. and at the end, he expresses his grief and infatuation for this girl saying how he wants to be much than more while he watches her. and it makes him sick and makes him die because he will never get what he wants.. sorta like, at the end, the realization of it never happening hits him hard.. |

i love this song mostly because of the lyrics. to me, the song is about being in love with someone who just doesn't love you back. not letting go of a past relationship. but it's being written in a weird way. "you know im not dead" he's probably saying how the person he loves left him and expected him to just move on but he's not gone yet. the whole song i think is just him talking about how he doesn't want to give up. he's going to fight and not let that someone move on or block him out. i love the chorus. i get chills listening to it. he just says how he "waits forever on the wings of their desire". and how they "always find a way" to get out of the situation. and he can't take it. and through it all, the person "moves" everyone they meet. or something. in an emotinal way. "forgotten touch" is just saying how in a past relationship, you starting forgetting how the other person felt whenever you touched them. "forbidden thought" is about having thoughts about your past relationship and thinking you're going to get back together, even though you know it's over. he's not suppose to think that because the person clearly told him that it was over. "forever waiting for a cruel death" could possibly mean that he can't take the constant rejections from the person and he just wants to die. or he could mean that person is so heartless, he just expects a cruel death. |

there has to be some kind of meaning behind it. otherwise the lyrics would be all nonsense. the lyrics obviously follow the "heart" pattern. id say its about dealing with someone who has a "cold heart" and how they dont realize just what the hell they're doing to the person. I like to think the "hey" part is kurt trying to catch the cold hearted person's attention. i mean, yeah if he just shouted these words without writing them first - he didnt have time to think it. but when theres emotion, theres always some meaning to it. or maybe im just wrong.. |
