Yeah, see Freaks if you haven't. It was consored when it came out because of the portrayal of circus freaks. Real "freaks" were used in the film, setting it apart from other movies of it's kind. The chant occurs in the middle when the freaks throw a fancy dinner to celebrate the engagement of a "normal" woman and a midget. The chant is performed by the freaks to welcome the woman into the group but she gets scared and angry. The end of the movie is also well known and often parodied, where the freaks are crawling through the mud to kill someone. It was censored because it portrays freaks in a negative way and was met with a lot of criticism. We watched it in my Contemporary LIterature class and it is fascinating to think about. Oh, also in the film there are several "pinheads", hence the title of the song. |

yeah, i really hope you guys that are dissing this trent character at least have heard/read his lyrics. i haven't, so i can't say anything about him. but yeah, don't just believe everything people tell you like that...question it...seek truth. otherwise you are no better than those "sheep" that calibretto likes to refer to in those lyrics i'm sure you sing a long to. |

i agree with you. i also think that like poetry this song has a two meanings that coexist. based on the line "you'll feel better when you cannot feel" i kind of think that this song is also about being afraid or unwilling to show or invest emotion. the concept that if you don't risk you never lose, right? my thoughts anyway... |

to the people towards the top that were talking about how they wish Thrice had released their previous albums with singles and radio play and all, yeah me too. but they didn't. and yeah the new CD is different than the old ones, but it's ok. it's kinda like what happened to modest mouse. it doesn't make me respect either of them less. Thrice is still one of my fav bands and i am very happy for their recent success. and the previous CDs are still amazing, radio play or no. Illusion of Safety all the way.

i think he is talking about a place that holds so many memories that are cold to him now. memories of a past relationship. the relationship has affected him deeply and permanently. he wants it back, but leaves it up to the other person to come back if she wants him.
