System of a Down – Lonely Day Lyrics 8 years ago
@[tylersteinberg3:21195] To me it seems like that line is about losing inerest in life after a person you cared about died and wanting to die yourself, because of that.
The song in my opinion seems to be about dealing with the death of a loved one.

To me this song seems to be about having faith that things will get better, though you're having a hard time in the moment.

"I've seen an image of the future,
It's a vision"

The line "I'm alright though it's hard to feel" could symbolize preteding you'e alright though you're not or that you're alright eventhough you're having a hard time.

It's important never to lose hope 'cause no matter how dificult life might seem, there's alays a way through. You just have to see it.

Well, ... actually when you listen to the original after or before the acapella, one realizes that the original is way better.
I'll overthink my next comment next time. ;-)

I'm not sure, but I read somewhere that the woman singing is Samantha, Chester's first wife.

Grey Daze – What's In The Eye? Lyrics 10 years ago
the song seems to be about having a problem that you can't solve or feeling bad but not knowing why.
But I don't quite get the "Don't go too fast my fast my friend, or you'll lose control"
part"

It's very iritating to have something in your eye and not to be able to get the damn thing out. Which makes having something in your eye a great metaphor for iritation, discomfort, pain ...

In my humble opinion this song is about a failed relationship, be it a romantic one or a friendship.

Actually this song is from "Sean Dowdell and his Friends", the band Chester co-founded before Grey Daze.

@[david_lpfan:5613] Grey Daze actually released two albums: Wake Me & No Sun Today.
But they're quite expensive.

Grey Daze – shE shiNes Lyrics 10 years ago
The song talks about a woman who leaves a trail of broken hearts in her wake.
But I don't quite get what this line means:

"She was by the river"

If anyone has an idea - let me know!

The song shows how enchantingly Chester can write, it's like a poem!

Grey Daze – B12 Lyrics 10 years ago
I prefer Linkin Park to Grey Daze, because I find the lyrics of GD were sung in a way that is difficult to understand. But I absolutely love this song and the lyrics are so meaningfull.
They show that even though back then Chester was lost in drugs, alcohol and despair, he was intelligent and aware about what was going on in the world around him.

This song is NOT from GREY DAZE, it's from DEAD BY SUNRISE.
Even though Chester was / is in both bands theiy're completely different.

Even though I had already heard and liked a few songs from the album and most likely would have bought it anyway, this song made it clear to me that I had to have the album.
It's just a beautyfull song that tells a very moving story that makes you think.

OneRepublic – If I Lose Myself Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is simply a masterpiece!

From the first time I heard it I felt it wasn't "a party all night song", there is just something in the melodie and the lyrics that conveye the feelings one probably has when one is going down in an airplane.

Props to 1R for overcoming their fear and creating this meaningfull song !

OneRepublic – Everybody Loves Me Lyrics 10 years ago
Well, as I see it the song is making fun of the importance of fame.

"Don't need my health
Got my name and got my wealth"

Even though the song is hard to understand, 'cause it's pretty fast you needn't comprehend every word to tell, that the song talks about fame with quite a lot of irony.

It's a fun song, if you've got a good sence of irony and humor.

Angra – Wuthering Heights Lyrics 10 years ago
I understand wanting to escape reality, I (try to) do it every day.
But that's not a solution, your problems will only permanently disapear if you face them.
Often i feel weak, depressed, lonely with myself and with others.
But I don't wat to way you down with my little problems, instead I'd like to share something with you that gives me strength and hope: Listening to music!

I don't know about you, but I often listen to Linkin Park. Their lyrics are just amazing and very relatible.

Here are some of my countles favorites:

- Easier to run - Runaway

- Robot boy - Roads untraveled

- Iridescent - Dedicated

I hope you like the songs and that I was of some help. ;-)

Linkin Park – Carousel Lyrics 10 years ago
I belatedly thought of something I'd like to ad to what I wrote.

"I never know just why you run
So far away, far away from me"

That could be a friend, sweetheart or family member of the one who's riding the carusel. The person is concerned that a person he / she loves is drifting away from life. He / she would like to help, but doesn't know why the other person is hurting.

Linkin Park – Carousel Lyrics 10 years ago
To me it seemes like the first vers is about a girl, who's traumatised due to something.
"All she wants to do is get rid of this hell"- that sounds like she wants to comit suicid or that she's drinking or / and taking drugs to deal with the pain.

The second vers is about a drug adict / alcoholic (where's the difference? they're both drugs) who thinks he's got his drugs under control and doesn't let anyone tell him otherwise. But it's the other way around: the drugs have HIM under control.

As a "carusel" I see some kinda distructiv pattern. It can be, as in this song, an adiction, but I can also "just" be thoughts, that, for example, tell you you / someone / something is bad. One gets so cought up in those lies that one doesn't see reality. The truth is always kinder. Most people, including me, are (sometimes) on a dizzying carusel ride to insanity, but you can make it stop.

I'm so gratefull to LP that they adress such important topics in their songs. Keep up the good work, guys!

Perhaps I started rambling a litle towards the end, but perhaps my thoughts will conect with somebody. :-)

Linkin Park – Blackbirds Lyrics 10 years ago
I agree with those who wrote that the song is about drug adiction.
But I also think the "blackbirds"could aswell stand for dark memories, regrets or some kind of trauma, 'cause many drug adicts only become such due the things I listed above. Those people probably try to fill he empty spaces within themselves with drugs, but instead end up being hunted down by their "blackbirds".

Linkin Park – Across The Line Lyrics 10 years ago
Well, the interpretation of a song depends on the listener, but to me it's about two people who are about to comit suicid:

- A soldier at war is in dispear and wants to kill himself 'cause his friend has been shot.

- A woman's/ girl's friend has been killde by a drug (perhaps heroin?) and she is about to share his/ her fate.

In my opinion this is one of LP's best songs, I wonder why they only put it on a demo album?

Linkin Park – Announcement Service Public Lyrics 10 years ago
At first I thought that the song was kinda weird, cause I couldn't understand what Chester was screaming in the background. Now it's impossible for me not to at least laugh a little when I hear it.
Perhaps they were making fun of those songs that alegedly have secret, satanic meanings, when one listens to them backwards.
But maybe they just felt that the world needs to be amore hygenic place. ;-)

Well, anyway it's agreat song with a moving message! (Moving to wash one's hands and to brush one's teeth!!)

Linkin Park – Crawling Lyrics 10 years ago
In my opinion this song is mainly about drug abuse - "This lack of self control I fear is never ending." and I think it also deals with sexual abuse - "Crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal."
I believe those are the main topics of the song, because Chester was sexually abused by an older male "friend" when he was only seven untill he was thirteen years old. That and many other facts led to that he began to take drugs and drink alcohol at an early age.

But the beauty about the song is that it's written in a way that leaves it free for interpretation.

"Hold on the weight of the world will give you the strength to go."
