The Dear Hunter – Son Lyrics 9 years ago
@[k4zoo:16558] Actually, you were right. In the next song, Father, he poisons his father for various reasons.

The Dear Hunter – The Fire (Remains) Lyrics 9 years ago
Hunter burned down The Church, ironically, to set things right in his mind and so he can gain entrance into heaven:

"Nothing left to keep me out of paradise
As portraits of the past fade away"

It seems though, that he may have accidentally set fire to The City too:

"But we can't keep the embers from catching
The truth from destroying us all"

AMAZING song though. Holy. What a way to climax!

The Dear Hunter – Cascade Lyrics 9 years ago
Holy f. One of the few albums I've bought where I don't regret buying it the first time I listen to it. Cascade is amazing!

Haven't listened to it close enough to figure it out yet.

That was easily the dumbest thing I've read in awhile (congratulations). You should really work at not being so indoctrinated. Your little rant was actually kind of sad.

Let's just say he's not talking about how long his naps are.

The Dear Hunter – Shouting At The Rain Lyrics 10 years ago
I'm not sure about the meaning, especially about what the speaker will "become". Great song though. One of my favourites off the album.

The Dear Hunter – At The End of the Earth Lyrics 10 years ago
This is godly.
The meaning seems pretty straight forward. It's about missing someone.

I'm not sure what it means in the context of the story though.

@[Payph0ne:6149] Afaik, the entire album is the journey of 1 guy waking up.

@[TobyTheSlave:5947] This reminds me of APC's Pet (by meaning, not sound).

Karnivool – Set Fire To The Hive Lyrics 10 years ago
@[TheFifthHorseman:5677] I think the duel meaning is pretty obvious given the lines: "Politics, religion, your vision's the same
You played us, as both a cancer and a cure".

You could probably summarize the entire song with those 2 lines (for the most part).

The Dear Hunter – Filth and Squalor Lyrics 10 years ago
@[Carcigenicate:3431] Actually, I take that back. After a couple more listens through, I can't say that there are any tracks that I don't like. I highly recommend this album.

The Dear Hunter – Filth and Squalor Lyrics 10 years ago
I was actually disappointed with most of the album; probably because I heard this song first, and the rest of the album couldn't compete with it. Easily the best song on the album, and one of my new TDH favorites.

The meanings pretty straightforward though. We're being oppressed.

As Audio said, this is outside of the story.

@[Lyricmasta615:3075] Unless this song breaks away from their story, I doubt this is correct.

Coheed and Cambria – The Hard Sell Lyrics 10 years ago
@[thepfi:3074] I don't think it's possible for you to be more wrong is nearly every way. This album is easily one of their best. I don't think I've heard hate from anyone regarding this album; even from the haters that complain whenever they change their direction in the slightest. If their new albums (provided they have any) are anything like this, I'd be extremely happy.

The Neighbourhood – How Lyrics 11 years ago
It's obviously about someone questioning their faith, but I don't see it as a conversation as some people have said; it does seem internal. He seems to be beginning to reason with his beliefs.

"How could you question God's existence
when you question God himself?
Why would you ask for God's assistance
if you wouldn't take the help?
"
He's conflicted because he's realizing that he's asking something of something that he isn't even sure exists

"If you're gone, then I need you
If you're gone, then how is any of this real?
When I'm on, I believe you
When I'm not, my knees don't even seem to feel
"
He realizes that he only truly believes when he's doing well.

"How could you tell me that I'm great
When they chew me up, spit me out, pissed on me?
Why would you tell me that it's fate
When they laughed at me, every day, in my face?"
He starts questioning what he's heard about his God. He's been told that he's great, and that "everything happens for a reason" (fate), but then he's put through hell and realizes that this is all being done to him on purpose, or there is actually no God.

"They say the end is coming sooner
But the end's already here
I said today is but a rumor
That we'll laugh at in a year
Or two, or three, or four, or five, whatever"
I don't know exactly how this fits in to the rest of the song. He seems to kind of laugh off the concept of Armageddon near the end, which would show him losing faith.
