I'm not sure what it means in the context of the story though.
@Carcigenicate He's missing Ms. Leading from Act 2. He broke up with her because he couldn't get over his insecurities being that she was a prostitute at the time they met. He's regretting it because he only left her on speculation and no one compares now.
