Deny It All Lyrics

The hollow stick arrogance that binds
But good faith and fortune rarely reward our cries
While we wait carefully and see

Denied and borrowed, tonight
Deny
Deny it all
And it all will go away

Close your eyes, and deny it all
And it all will go away

Nursing stale history, and the apathy it brings
Too fascinated by the most material things
While we wait carefully and see

Denied and borrowed, tonight
Deny
Deny it all
And it all will go away

Close your eyes, and deny it all
And it all will go away

Never took you long to pray
Either way, I spend you like I know some better way
Force of habit.
Now it takes a while to pray

In a way, you spit me out, you changed my name

Never took you long to pray
Either way, I spend you like I know some better way
Force of habit.
Now it takes a while to pray

In a way, you spit me out, you changed my name

Deny, deny it all
And it all will go away
Close your eyes, and deny it all, and it all will go away

Cover art for Deny It All lyrics by Dear Hunter, The

When I listen I take it as,

"Never took you long to PREY"

Meaning it was quick and easy to go after whatever it was; a mistake? But "now it takes a while to PRAY" for it to go away; to 'Deny It All'

My Interpretation

Wow! Good catch. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on in this act. Thus far, I've figured out that he's been discharged from the military and torn about what he's done while abroad: AND met up with Ms Leading again (later in the act, of course)... I'll figure the rest out, s'pose.

Still, nice catch on the prey/pray. We all know how he likes wordplay of this type.

No, this was from the Color Spectrum EP series, they have nothing to do with the story in 'The Dear Hunter' Acts.

As Audio said, this is outside of the story.
