| The Script – We Cry Lyrics

This song was written about the walk down James Street in Dublin to the studio where the band would record. James Street was a very disorderly part of Dublin where you would constantly see people getting beat up, people that were on drugs, and people pushing strollers down the street when they should be in school themselves. |

Whenever I look at the lyrics to this it points out 3 main problems with society today; teenager pregnancy, the way women are perceived, and drug usage. The story with Jenny and Hope is about the teenage pregnancy. Hope's mother Jenny was a teenage mother and because 'the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree' Hope was the same way.
John was a phenominal performer but since he took to drugs he was no longer able to perform even though he was able to make money off of it because of his addiction.
Last of all. Mary always dreamed of being a politician growing up but since she's got a deadbeat husband that hardly does anything she must do all the work and she can't pursue her lifelong dream. |

| The Script – No Good in Goodbye Lyrics

What I know of it is the song was based around these different words that have words in them but the word itself means the opposite. There is no good in goodbye, there is no nice in nice try, there is no us in trust, no soul in soldier on, etc. That's the basis of the chorus and the verses put a story to it. I can't remember exactly everything they said about it but if you want to check out the whole story as well as some other things go on YouTube and search The Script Google Reveal. |

| The Script – Anybody There Lyrics

Coming on here and seeing that people are saying that some of the members of The Script are atheists is really agitating me. None of the member are, okay? In most cases when you're writing a song you write what flows, you also have to keep in mind when this song was most likely written.
This song was written by the guitarist Mark Sheehan and singer Danny O'Donoghue most likely when they were living in L.A. writing and producing songs for other artists. They were hardly making any income and came to the point where they were stealing bags of ice from local gas stations so they could keep their milk cold in the bathtub so they could have a cup of tea in the morning. In times like this you start to question a lot of things, and religion being no exception. At the time they were doing things that they knew weren't right but felt like they had to to live from day to day and this is most likely what the lyrics to this rather beautiful song spurred off from.
If you don't agree with me on this then that's perfectly fine, I can't make you, but just seeing comments like this was really bugging me, and has been for quite awhile. I am not sure if this is entirely true but this is my hypothesis of the song based on what I've heard was going on at the time this was most likely to have been written. |

| The Script – The Energy Never Dies Lyrics

The main point of this song is how even when someone's died and passed away they're never really gone since the energy that was within them has to go somewhere, hence 'the energy never dies'. |

| The Script – Paint the Town Green Lyrics

This song was essentially written about homesickness. Not so much in the sense of the band from touring, but from those who are immigrants. The song tells the story of an Irish couple where one of the people is missing home on St. Patrick's Day, missing being with her friends and such so in attempts to cheer the person up, the significant other tries to make where they are as close to home as possible. Hence the lines 'paint the town green' and 'turn the city into Dublin, yeah wherever we may be'. |

| The Script – Man on a Wire Lyrics
|
|
This song was written based on the documentary Man On Wire that was about a man who strung a wire between the two twin towers in New York. In attempts to scare the guitarist Mark Sheehan, Danny O'Donoghue and Glen Power put the program on and had Mark watch it since he's afraid of heights. In a conversation Mark asked why someone would do that so the explanation they came up with was over a woman. |

This song was said to have been written about the fans according to the guitarist Mark Sheehan. He says that the fans are usually very protective over their music and such so when someone criticizes them they're in a sense protected by their fanbase. |

| Kelly Clarkson – Already Gone Lyrics

The songs are similar because they were written AND produced by the same person, Ryan Tedder. He did Already Gone with/for Kelly Clarkson and I'm guessing that Beyonce liked the song so when Halo was penned by Tedder and an additional person, the coming about of Halo is an interesting story to say the least, it probably came out similar because the other person was contacted and Beyonce wanted a song so Halo is what came out of it. I'm sorry if this is a tad bit confusing, a lot of things play into the similarities, but the primary reason is that it was written and produced by the same person. |

| Parachute – Be Here Lyrics

My interpretation of this song is that it's about one of the singer's friends who has a large desire to leave the town that she grew up that's holds too many memories that haunt and hurt her. She's getting sick of her surroundings and feels that the city is calling her name, beckoning for her to leave while the singer is trying to persuade her to stay, saying that he wants her to be here, to be there for him. |

Actually, both lyrics are right. There are two versions of the song, the version that was recorded when they were Sparky's Flaw in college and the version rerecorded for the debut album.
In the college recording:
Well she's sick of this town and the rain that falls down.
In the rerecord:
Well she's sick of this town and the walls in this house. |

| The Script – Talk You Down Lyrics

This song is about the fight or flight moment of the relationship, when the girl is walking out and you either go after her and try to save the relationship or let her run away and end it.
The line 'Use my heart and not my head' is stating that he'll speak and act with his heart, doing what it thinks is right despite what his brain might be telling him, ignoring all rational thought as stated in a past comment. |
