well i think that the idea of suicide is all very relative; who is killing what? i think the song is about bowie committing suicide as in he is killing off Ziggy Stardust, ending this glorious chapter of his life of his own volition, and starting out alone in his solo career. Bowie knew what he was doing when he wrote the song, knew what he wanted it to mean as it related to his life and Ziggy's; it is not by accident that the song came last, or that it ends the way it does. it is Bowie's way of ending this life. a rock'n'roll suicide. |

I like this song alot though I'm not sure why, The Used isn't in my normal repetoire but, I do think its great for these guys who have had to deal with so much to finally be recognized...mainstream ins't a bad thing until a band loses its sense of self. Yeah, we all want to feel special because we know about this great band that no one else knows about but, why would we want to wish anonymity on anyone who can sing a song like this or an album like this one. If they can become famous and rich, then good for them... |

i almost agree with you firefox. but you might want to work on your spelling because i can hardly read your message.and i'm sensitive i completely agree with you. these lyrics are very shallow and lack the depth that todays serious music fans crave. but i think maybe yoa all should let up on her not being punk. it looks like she probabyl going to be around awhile,unfortunatley. |
