Falling By The Wayside Lyrics

It's OK
To be safe
Cos I'm on top
Of my game

But I'm losing control
Falling by the wayside

Dive right in
Take a drink
Enter it
Try and win
Make sure you call
Before I leave

Keep on top
Of the game

I'm losing control
Falling by the wayside

It's OK
To be safe

I'm in love with this song- heard it on one of my favorite shows "The 4400" and thank God! From my point of view, this song is all about giving into your inhibitions. It's okay to be safe- but you can venture out if you want to...because you can. Being on top of your game, on top of the world, it becomes easy to stray away, a little or a lot. All of a sudden your losing control and diving in to what you promised yourself you wouldn't.

He's on top becauze he's played it safe all along, and it's okay to do it that way. But, if you do the same thing, all day, everyday, you die a little each day inside. And he has died inside so that is why he is losing control. Or maybe it's just a flashback of his crappy life, and he regrets doing the same safe thing day after day. HE should've taken risks.

i think has to be deeper than a casino Its much sadder much more devistating than that Its like falling off a cliff losing your grip of a certain peice of reality.

I think that the middle of this album (Moth to Light for the Deadvine) is a narration of a distant love affair. By distant, I mean that the parties involved aren't in any position to meld their lives together, but still strongly desire each other. This song relates to that because he is finding himself "playing it safe" by not forgetting all that can go wrong and taking the leap for love. It is slowly driving him insane, and he is finding it harder all the time to make the choices that are safest, without feeling like he is missing out on something spectacular.
