I love the verses "it was the carefree unrestricted love you never meant to give" "you never had the choice" "it was your innocence". Since its about a friend he lost when he was younger like hes trying to say the love and friendship she gave toward him was inevitable because they were young and when you're young, you're just naturally happy and loving. hence, "it was your innocence". This song just reminds me of childhood in general and the sadness that may sometimes come with it. |

These lyrics kinda remind me of a point of view of a kid (teenager?) that's talking about maybe a screwed up parent that breaks the family apart. Like the part "take the picture from the wall when you think that nothing matters" the pic could stand for a family photo. and the parent doesnt care. just wahat i think. |

To me this song kinda sounds like he's either trying to fight his depression or get over memories about an ex lover. And he wants to go to to a different place or "pine tree" to forget about it or her. What do yall think? |

Don't get me wrong, I love the Cure but has it ever passed your mind that maybe they kinda worship the devil and when they say "I am falling through the sky" that their trying to be as demons? Also with the sacrifice part. |
