This song is, quite simply, about death and the author's fear thereof. He walks west to the setting sun, with every step he grows another second young. He's trying to evade aging, and the elephant shell is to be taken literally, as the playground piece. It represents youth, innocence, a time worth wishing you could go back to. Short and sweet: I want to wind back time to being a child inside an elephant shell, safe from aging and death. |

A dark and mocking take on the irony that is the Indy Kid. He (the Indy Kid) attempts to be different from everyone else, but in doing so becomes a clone of all the other Indy Kids. An awesome and powerful song with a cool sound to it. |

A stunningly flawless analysis. Excellently done. As for Right Before My Eyes, I believe the song is a sort of step back from it all, realizing how small a single human life is, and breaking down with fear about it. It is not the world that loses control, but the viewer. He sees how massive it is all around him, and loses his grasp on it, the mass of self importance burns deep within him. The stress and fear, even in a short burst, is too much for him. |

A personal favorite of mine from this new album, Around my Head is quite outright about it's meaning. Though I doubt anyone needs me to say it: Around My Head is a song about being lovestruck, having love for a person just out of reach. |

As far as meaning goes, I'm not positive, it could mean a lot of things. Either way Aberdeen is a fantastic Cage the Elephant song. It has a feel all it's own and an amazing sound. |

Just a damn good song. Cage the Elephant has done it again with fantastic music bursting with deeper meaning. I believe this song is a statement of the ignorance and blindness of society, though, that may just be my beliefs projecting themselves to the lyrics. |
