Flow Lyrics
Looking out my window
Wonder how it came to be
Feel just like a temple
Lifted by a gentle breeze
Ugly as a suitcase
I can see it stretch for days
Hanging on a sunset
Softly trampled by the rain
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on
Looking out my window
Trying to find a hiding place
Climb into the tree tops
Watch it all just drift away
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on
Wonder how it came to be
Feel just like a temple
Lifted by a gentle breeze
I can see it stretch for days
Hanging on a sunset
Softly trampled by the rain
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on
Trying to find a hiding place
Climb into the tree tops
Watch it all just drift away
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on
Dead and gone, so long hold on
Way too long, hold on, hold on
Dead and gone, so long, hold on
So long, hold on

My interpretation: A nostalgic look at the past; maybe looking at opportunities that were never seized when they should have been, and realizing how everything you've done has led to exactly where you are right now; leaving you to question if you're OK with everything that has led up to this point. The screaming heard in the background possibly represents the frustration accompanied with this revelation?
The song also contains an Alternative (Somewhat) Acoustic reprise of the track "Right Before My Eyes" (formerly known as "Timber Me Shivers")
Timber shakes These trails they are derailed Phony false and frail An empty ocean Lost our way with no direction home Golden needles names we take in vein Find it harder to remain Nothing sacred Still waiting on that explanation
Right before my eyes I saw the whole world lose control The whole world lost control Before my eyes, uh huh I fell through the floor I couldn't take it anymore I can't take this anymore It breaks my mind, uh huh
Hold her dirty hands over the flames Getting pleasure from the pain Softly screaming The pistol that she raised has spoken Golden needles names we take in vein Find it harder to remain Nothing sacred Still waiting on that explanation
Right before my eyes I saw the whole world lose control The whole world lost control Before my eyes, uh huh I fell through the floor I couldn't take it anymore I can't take this anymore It breaks my mind, uh huh
Everything I thought I knew fell to the side Time went on and on Can't see past my own eyes Past my eyes Past my eyes Past my eyes
Right before my eyes I saw the whole world lose control The whole world lost control Before my eyes, uh huh I fell through the floor I couldn't take it anymore I can't take this anymore It breaks my mind, uh huh
A stunningly flawless analysis. Excellently done. As for Right Before My Eyes, I believe the song is a sort of step back from it all, realizing how small a single human life is, and breaking down with fear about it. It is not the world that loses control, but the viewer. He sees how massive it is all around him, and loses his grasp on it, the mass of self importance burns deep within him. The stress and fear, even in a short burst, is too much for him.
