im not quite sure what its about, all i know is it gets stuck in my head and i just keep repeating GOLD CANARY, GOLD CANARY over and over and over and over for like a week. maybe talkshowghos (cool name btw) it could be. like the second verse "I won�t hurt your sister, I cannot resist her" hes talking to the brother mentioned in the first verse. its a difficult song to decipher. now its stuck in my head again. |

OMG kirsty86 i really think its 'caught' not 'got' that would make more sense and fit better with a girl warning a potential lover about her emotional baggage and past relationship snafus (btw i had no idea wat snafus meant n english is my only language haha)i dont think its OCD. i tried to look at it like greenkat742 but im sticking with clairvoyance. thanx teenqueen22 i think ill get the filterheadz remix. catchy song my fav of sias |

i think its about a girl he wants to have sex with. "sure, it's not all you're good for but still it's what your paid for" maybe shes employed somehow by the band. ArtBitch is totally right about the "break the surface" bit and later on they might have a deeper connection but i think he just wants sex at that moment. i love this song. red riders are awesome. im suprised their new stuff isnt up. "ordinary" has a more upbeat sound than "slide in next to me" but its still chill |

it could fit better as "go on, leave me" as aposed to "gonna leave me" i love the line "summer moon, catch your shut eye" partly because i just dont understand it. the rest is all pretty obvious. i love their new stuff as well as their old. i just holybajevers love yeah yeah yeahs. karen o is effing awesome. i wouldnt be too worried of them turning poppish n goin mainstream. |

i agree a lot with chewbear about the lyrics. always a driftER, trips to make we can speak AT slower speeds when i wake up it will always be THAT i think its about him finally being able to comit to her. hes ready to have a relationship with her. as he was always a drifter before. Bombay Bicycle Club is one of my all time favourate bands. they hav an awesome unique sound. i know their song "emergency contraception blues" wont be on this site as its just instrumental but i think it deserves a shout out as one of their best. |

i agree Sheet. the start of the song is when they get together. "the paint peels and slowly falls" as time goes on they come to the relisation that their relationship isnt workin n must come to an end. "we both know we could be someone better" they know they should separate. i think thats its about how some people can love each other but are better off not being together. like best friends or something. |

i think its about a roomate. a guy who was probably originally darwin's friend but after living together their relationship turned sour. if you look at the song in literal terms. "so i would never have to pick up your trash again" "if your out of clean sheets" why would anyone have to clean up someones mess or do their laundry if they didnt live with them? "maybe you should wonder why your apartment is always so empty" maybe it was their apartment and now no one, as in their friends, goes there because of something the other guy did, probably to darwin. just a thought. btw i got this song from BIRP (blalocks indie rock playlist) or maybe the song was written by a girl or something. i have no idea about jenny. |
