| Diana Vickers – Once Lyrics

I like the song and I don't really care if Diana Vickers came out of the x factor. I think it's about not letting anyone hurt her more than once because they're not worth it. Perhaps she also questions her faith in people and what love is about. It has to do with betrayal and the fact that some people hurt others and they don't approach them easily which results in pain |

Could someone please explain the french parts because some of us don't speak french? It would be perhaps easier to understand what the song is about. I hope it gets huge because although I don't usually listen to this kind of music it caught my attention and it's really good |

I was really surprised and speechless when I heard this song but well done Kate for writing a song against women being used and exploited. I think she said she wrote this song about some groupies she saw at a festival. The video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwMFU2SNR0A |

| Noah and the Whale – The First Days of Spring Lyrics

I think spring is a metaphor for his life starting again. Perhaps his suffering after the breakup was like winter and "first days of spring" means that he's finally alright and confident about the future. |

| Kate Nash – Do-Wah-Doo Lyrics

What Kate said about it in Spin magazine: "The song's about one of my best friends from when I was younger. He totally betrayed me by hanging out with these enemies of mine - these perfect girls, who wore lip-gloss and talked about boys and were really annoying. He and I had grown up climbing trees, playing in the woods, and going on holiday together, so I thought he'd be cooler than that. But when he turned 15 years old he wanted a girlfriend. I was like, 'Well fine, I'll just pretend I don't give a shit even though I'll never ever forgive you, even when I'm 22 years old and writing a song about it." |

| Marina and the Diamonds – Mowgli's Road Lyrics
| 15 years ago

At first I thought it was an imaginary story about the singer being chased by cutlery (e.g. fork) but then I realised that she meant something like a crossroad. So she most probably means making decisions in life and not being afraid of forks and jungle animals. It's ambiguous though. |

I think it's about her being with some pretentious and arrogant high class guy. He wanted to change her and perhaps he looked down upon her but she didn't let him. Now he's with a girl with no persomality unlike the singer. However I'm not sure about the king/queen part |

| Marina and the Diamonds – Hollywood Lyrics

What Marina Diamandis said about "Hollywood" in the NME: "A bit of the message in the song is how we all aspire to achieve some part of the american dream. Yet a lot of the people who have achieved it are either not very content or their lives have ended in total tragedy, like Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson. We're led to believe that you'll only be happy if you live that kind of lifestyle and strive for fame, but that's often nonsense." |

| The Courteeners – Cross My Heart and Hope To Fly Lyrics

No comments here? It's my favourite track from falcon. I think it's about when you live with someone (family, girlfriend, boyfriend) and the daily problems make relationships difficult. Sometimes they don't understand your need to have an interest in art or other things you like to do and boring household chores consume your time. Just my interpretation. |

| White Lies – You Still Love Him Lyrics

One of my favourite white lies songs. When I first heard it I thought it was about a guy who loved this girl but he died and he came back as a ghost just to be close to her. She doesn't know of course. She never knew about the guy's feelings and she's always been in love with another guy who likes another girl. So she aches "I saw a teardrop fall, gently down your cheek" and the first guy also feels sorry. A lot of parts in the song don't match my interpretation but that's just what I get out of the song. |
