| Sara Bareilles – King of Anything Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think this song is more about the guy, who's moving on, and the girl (Sara) doesn't think it's right and doesn't see why he needs to move on. He wants to go on to bigger and better things but she thinks that they've got or had the best thing here. This part describes the guy great: "I'm not the one who's lost With no direction But you'll never see You're so busy making maps With the names on them in all caps You've got the talking down Just not the listening" The guy just wants to go all over the world but doesn't really know what to do with his life and she's wants him to just stay and realize they had a good thing but he's "not listening" just "talking" about all the things HE wants to do. By this point she's just like whatever, do what you want, I can't change your mind, but that doesn't mean I agree and theres where the... "Who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything? So you dare tell me who to be Who died and made you king of anything? All my life I've tried to make everybody happy while I just hurt and hide Waiting for someone to tell me it's my turn to decide" ...comes in. |

| I was totally thinking the same thing. She definitely sounds a lot like Hayley. | |
| John Mayer – Another Kind of Green Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this is a total play-off of the old saying "The grass is greener on the other side." I know the song refers to a woman, but I think he's kind of singing it about life in general. He's saying "Hey, I don't need to go anywhere (like the other side of the fence where the grass is greener in a metaphorical sense) or change anything to know what I got is good." He likes exactly where he is and he doesn't need anything better, even if there is better out there, because he loves where he is and he's perfectly content. |

| Meiko – Sleep Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I like this song a lot. I like this line: "And I need something to help me sleep when I know you're not good for me". I think everyone knows what that feels like. | |
| Milla Jovovich – Reaching From Nowhere Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Explains what it's like when we're really in love. You're blind, memorized by their eyes, you're set free and you tear down all your walls. | |
| Milla Jovovich – The Alien Song (For Those Who Listen) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Okay this is probably going to be out there, but this song kind of reminds me of the movie Avatar. Like how the humans are destroying the other planet and how she says "we cannot touch you, we cannot understand your people's proud destruction". It seems to fit well. And especially at the end of the song how it says "watch them fly away" and at the end of Avatar they watch the humans fly away. Idk just really reminded me of that movie. | |

"February. Take ink and weep, write February as you’re sobbing, while black Spring burns deep through the slush and throbbing." |

| The Academy Is... – Every Burden Has a Version Lyrics | 15 years ago |

"She smokes her smokes outside to avoid the fight She'd rather be enjoying the silent stillness Of the suburbs after midnight What's the point? Don't try to hide Don't justify a thing" Definitely my favorite part. Great song. |

| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this song is kind of about living life in the moment, and not always worrying about what happened in your past or what's going to happen in your future. I think that it's about when you're broken down and you don't want people to see you, you just want them to know what kind of person you are. This song is about finding out who you are and embracing it. | |

| Sufjan Stevens – To Be Alone with You Lyrics | 16 years ago |

He wasn't hostile towards that music at all. Obviously you didn't read the post. He was just saying that yeah the song is about Jesus, but introspectively. PemberleyTea, though she gave good support for her thoughts, may have offended other people with all the deep references to what the bible says. Just because this song is about Jesus doesn't mean you have to be a devout Christian, or believe in religion at all. So I think you should take your own advice and think before you talk. And maybe check out Relient K? It's considered Christian Rock but I think it's just plain old good music. |

I definitely agree. It makes me so angry when people sing this song and I ask them about Hide and Seek and they've never heard it. Another pet peeve of mine is when you hear a good song and then all of a sudden you hear someone start rapping in it. |
