When You Were Young Lyrics
15 months and they would drag you from your throne, but you ain't got no place to go. You were the bad one from the day that you were born.
You can run. I don't think that you can hide.
Have you found the knife and cigarettes in your locker with your books? Smoking weed with Joe and Rock inside his house.
You can run. I don't think that you can hide.
Mom wants you to come back home. She keeps crying when I call her on the phone. Won't you give this thing a chance?
You are not what you were when you were young. You are not what you were when you were young.
I was fucked up when you needed me the most. Trying to starve myself to death. I still feel like I did something that was wrong.
You can run. I don't that you can hide.
Mom wants you to come back home. She keeps crying when I call her on the phone. Won't you give this thing a chance?
You are not what you were when you were young. You are not what you were when you were young.
(Repeats chorus)
Mom wants you to come back home. She keeps crying when I call her on the phone. Won't you give this thing a chance?
Mom wants you to come back home. She keeps crying when I call her on the phone. Won't you give this thing a chance?

beautiful song, i think it's about a sibling that's throwing their life away with drugs and such (weed), feeling like the family had done them wrong, and will is just trying to coax them to come home and give their family another chance.
yeah, cootiequeen nailed it. The lyrics are a little messed up though. Like the word think is missing at one part, like the the third time you can run. I don' t think that you can hide.
This song was written about his brother, such a sad song :( I don't think there's much to say about this song, apart from the fact that it's so touching, it's pretty much self-explanatory...
I like your analysis Coootiequeen. This song is beautiful and so sad.
Think y'all nailed it.
Song wrenches me every time I hear it. I've been drug free for almost a month, and I'm in a lonely transition away from the days of fun and parties and then drugs and isolation but comfort and now...just sort of empty I guess. The song feels appropriate for that time.
this is so deep.
