Paul and Dan both said in interviews that the 1st character is the same person from Swim to the moon and the other is a character on a different planet facing the same realization about his/her society and wants to get away. as for the deeper meaning, I'm still thinking about this. |

a couple of the lyrics are wrong. nothing to write home about though in the booklet its "pea green boat" not "big green boat" and its "You went hunting with your grandfather that lonely night" i think this song is about a guy who likes a girl but is too nervous to talk to her "She leaves me with jellylegs" and she doesn't notice him at all "She took aim with a turned back" and it hurts him "Blew holes in me with cold silence" "Then a science project volcano erupts inside me Filling me with flat champagne" and I'm not sure but i think she was accidentally shot by her grandfather in the end "You went hunting with your grandfather that lonely night" |

wow no one has commented?? probably my favourite gyroscope song the lyrics are pretty straight forward.... a guy stalking a chick, follows her everywhere, sleeps outside her window etc. i don't know about the... "If you wake up in the morning, I haven't done my job right." maybe he wants to kill her... dunno, a bit creepy but great song nonetheless =) |
