I'm not entirely sure what the song is about... But it makes me think of being coerced into sex, or being seduced. i.e."feeling visceral" not really able to control one's self and having sex because your body wants it, but your mind isn't properly engaged. |

I think this song could be about a number a of things (as with any song). For some reason it's really hitting me as suicide and OR depression. This song would suit a break up, or an unproductive slow time in someone's life due to a violent change in their situation.
I know this song was used somewhat fittingly in the New Moon movie at the part where the main character jumps off of a cliff for "the thrill" and to see the apparition, or hear the voice of her long gone boyfriend. All of her supernatural friends thought she was trying to kill herself.
"I think I know what's on your mind, A couple words, a great divide" --fits with the anticipation of a break up, and how just a couple of words can cast people apart forever. "This constant noise all the time"-- reminds me of how Bella hears his voice in the books, and how his being infiltrates all her thoughts. For a depressed person things can seem like just a slur of cacophony all the time too.
"Even though you're the only I see, It's the last catastrophe, Place your bets on chance and apathy, From the wind in front of me"--really sounds like someone jumping off of a building or a precipice. The "last catastrophe" part suggests that this will be the last problem/event/issue that the person will have to face because they're about to pass on. It crosses me as saying goodbye to someone you love a lot FOREVER.

I think the song is about messing up, but being ready to stable and ready to fix everything. I think it's about vulnerable but willing to do the right thing, and believing yourself to be capable of doing so. |

This song was playing in the background in the birthday scene in New Moon.
I love the song... It's sort of happy. I think it goes well with the moment right before the attack in the film, because things seem to be going great.
I'm not a huge Sea Wolf fan but I have my first taste in '07 and I liked it, it's kind of odd that they're on the New Moon soundtrack too, but it's cool. |
