Bill Callahan – Faith/Void Lyrics 13 years ago
I myself am an atheist. I find a great deal of peace in the beauty of my existence. I find peace in the marvellous coincidence that is the beautiful world I live in, and I don't need more then this. The mountains, the trees, the animals, the seas, the people, my peace comes from these. My purpose comes from the fact that I am lucky enough to have a brief existence in this incredible world, and that I have a few years to leave my mark and make tiny changes for the better. This is what existence is to me, and I need no more then that for complete peace and purpose.

Wha.... what? No. That is not proof for gods existence. I don't understand how that could be implied. Actually, the very fact that we can see some stars is proof that god doesn't exist in the way the testaments describe him to. Some of the stars that we can see are SO far away that their light takes hundreds of thousands of years to reach the earth. That is, a few more then 4000.

For me, the seas, the stars, and childbirth are proof of one thing: the incredible beauty of the universe that we are gifted a flickering existence in. The fact that this incredible piece of good fortune isn't enough for so many makes me so, so sad.

Hey Rosetta – Red Heart Lyrics 16 years ago
I think that this song is about someone that Tim may have known that became very different, and that he grew to like, or even love, this person for the person they were when they met, but for some reason the person has become less genuine, less themselves, and this is his plea to return to being the person they were

Tim says that this song is about a plane crash, where everyone dies, but they get to heaven and think, Oh, this isn't so bad, its much less stressful than being alive. A beautiful notion.
