This song reminds me of my sister. All she wants is to be an actor and everyone in my family goes on bout she'll never get a part in anything cox so many other want the same thing. Just the other week she gotthe lead role in a musical that her school will be presenting infront of a huge audience at a theatre. I'm so proud of her I gave her this songto listen to. So I think it's about having a dream. A big dream for yourself. And everyone telling you you won't get it or do it. But then proving them wrong. And showing them anything is possible. |

I can't believe no one has commented this!! This is an amazing song. I think it's about to lovers. One of them may have depression and the other is unsure of what to do, so does nothing. But as he watches them, he realizes that they drifting away and he's doing nothingto stop them. It's such a sad song but is beautifully writen and composed. That is what I love about powderfinger. |

This reminds me of when white people came to Australia. The white people claimed the beaches and shot the aboriginals and took away their children. Aboriginals didn't understand why they were so cruel and the women would cry for days for their lost men and children. "shiny toy guns" reminds me of the fact that aboriginals stood no chance coz white people had their shiny guns. This Bought them power and would often abuse them, using them like toys. I love the depth in this song. |

I feel it has two meanings. After all a song means something different to different people. For people to be TELLING other why the song means is stupid.. Sorry. I feel it can be about homosexuality, coz I can relate to it. (I'm not gay, I'm pansexual) it's very difficult for alot Of people to come out about being gay and so many people get rejected by their family and friends for; which I don't understand at all.. It could also be someone dealing with a mental illness. She may have come to terms with it ad is dealing with it her own way but her parents are conviced there something "wrong" with her or she's "sick" when it's just who she is and it's not gonna change. |

How has no one commented this!? :O I think this is about a song writter comparing his work to other writters and how they've influenced his songs. Also it has song feelings and objects the singer related himself to so that could be how he thinks of himself or even how they've inspired his works. Or it could be random words as alot of songs are, and I'm making up a meaning to please my own restless mind. |

I believe it's about feeling unsure about yourself. Feeling neglected or depressed. The way itissung, the singer sounds like he has lost hope for himself and just wants to quit his life. He's always wondering if he's "suffocating right" whether this means how he is killing himself or how've feels about himself is unclear. He feels he is bound to this place and can't leave but still questions whether or not he is strong enough to try.. I love this song. The music, the beat and the singing is all amazing. It's great to listen to when your spaced out or depressed |

I think that this song is about coming to terms with ones faith and having to deal with all the other statements others make about it. I think the singer is confused and feels that the confusion he is feeling is wrong since he should be faithful to his religion, so therefore it is killing him inside but it he can't stop thinking bout it hence //Not one day goes by that I dont know that I'm dying// That could also refer to him wondering if there is something for him after he dies and how painfully aware he is that every day he is closer to death. |
