| Rudimentary Peni – Pig In A Blanket Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think the key to understanding this song is the line "taking much more than you need". I don't think they are preaching vegetarianism, because it is kind of ridiculous to try to convince people that it is immoral to consume flesh since animals do it all the time and we had to for survival in many places and many time periods. I think they are against things like killing animals for sport or to use their bodies as decor. Or to just eat them when you don't need to to fill yourself fat. Being a vegetarian in a middle-class society is great because you are preserving the planet and not supporting some of the abuse of domesticating animals. But there are many scenarios in poorer countries where you have to eat animals or you die yourself. But still, fuck taxidermy. |

| Misfits – Theme For A Jackal Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
There are references to Hamlet it seems. Wet waste of a girl/Dead daughter in the river - Ophelia Die sweet prince - "Good night sweet prince" Meat tastes like mince - Reminds me of how Hamlet described how a dead king's remains may go through the guts of a beggar. I think it would go with the opinions of you guys who think the song is about people who use their children to their own advantage, because that's what Polonius did to his daughter. And death was a huge theme in Hamlet, and I think the Jackal is a representative of death and how eventually it will consume you. |

Wait, I thought the line... "I can open up and finish faster than you" was actually... "I can open up a Guinness faster than you" Maybe? Would make sense. |

| I bet he got the "Take this job and shove it" line from Dead Kennedys. | |
| Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine – I Won’t Give Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
"Ain't left or right Or donkeys and elephants It's the top against the bottom" Thank you Jello! It's nice to know there is a musician I feel like I can still trust to speak the truth. Don't believe the whole "hope" hype. No politician is going to get into office to solve your problems, you've got to work for yourself if you really want to be free. |

| Dead Kennedys – Hyperactive Child Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I liked my brother better when he was autistic... even though he was antisocial, he was also thoughtful, artistic, a real genius in my eyes. This song always reminds me of how angry I am that society and my parents couldn't handle who my brother was, so they gave him therapy, shots, and pills. Now they "cured" him and he's completely different. Now he's just like every other bratty kid. They call it an improvement, but I think they destroyed him. |

| Dead Kennedys – Too Drunk to Fuck Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think alcohol in moderation is okay. But to me, promiscuous jocks and cheerleaders who get piss-drunk and fuck every other night are honestly a disgusting waste of space. Do something productive with your life, or you don't deserve to live. DK forever. |

| Misfits – Hatebreeders Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Maybe instead of "hatebreeders" Danzig secretly means to say "hate breeders", because those who breed are only bringing more hateful humans into the world. Hence lines such as: "murder one inborn into your every cell it's in your blood and you can't shake it because you were bred to take it next stop annihilation they bred the hate right in your bones" Maybe its just me... but could it be a possibility that he means something like this? |

| Siouxsie and the Banshees – Mother Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Any woman who decides to give birth intends to enslave their child by shaping them the way they want them to be shaped and calling it "love" when it is actually suffocation. They think they are protecting us when they are actually stunting our mental growth. Kind of like the government, or even kind of like God. |

| Siouxsie and the Banshees – You're Lost Little Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is actually a cover song originally performed by The Doors. | |
| Misfits – 20 Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song makes me think of seeing too much of the world in general, and its all so mind blowing that you can't handle it. 'Cuz there's so much to think about that you can't sort it all out, and its "crowding your human face," meaning its overwhelming you and everyone can see it. | |

| Black Flag – The Swinging Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm not sure it's about suicide necessarily. I think es89 is right about it being about a person who spends their days with their head in the clouds ("My feet never touch the ground"). The swinging man doesn't want to bother with reality and its pains, so he looks to get high or drunk, etc. to take his mind off it all. He's living in his own little world, waiting for someone to snap him out of it ("Now if you love me, you'll cut me down"). | |

| Black Flag – Rat's Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Some people are like the rat. They spend their entire lives living in the hidden corners of the world, forced to struggle and crawl about. The rat is often looked down upon as vermin by those in higher places, who have no idea how ignorant and naive they really are. Only the rat sees the world for what it really is: a forsaken hell-hole of shit. I'm thinking this would make the rat feel either isolated or angry towards those who live with eyes closed, who think of life as a game. And so the rat wants others to touch their filth, to be shocked, to see the world through rats eyes. To be like them. Humble yourself, sacrifice pride, and you may acquire the dark wisdom of the rat. It's a heavy burden, but its better than living with your head in the clouds. |

| The Doors – You're Lost Little Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think it actually relates to the story, Alice in Wonderland. She was a lost little girl. One of the characters in the story even told her "You're lost, Alice." Also, the hookah-smoking caterpillar kept asking her "Who are you?", whereas Alice would reply something along the lines of "I don't know, because I'm not myself." And all of us know that the Alice in Wonderland story is a metaphor for the effects of drugs. |
